To the Luke Warm on Luke Brigade that I was a member of. Jeez you come around quick when you see him speak from the heart in the video. Secondly in a worst case scenario that he loses all his speed when he comes back from his ACL history, time will show this was the right move in the long run no matter how things pan out with Metcalf. He is our dog in the fight and we have treated him well and that will be noticed by other Australians who are thinking of coming here. This move plays the long game well and shows we are a club with good values rather than letting ourselves be outbid because he got an ACL and we were worried about injuries.

.

I posted a while ago that Lukey Met is worth the punt of extension. What will be will be.

Our Lord and Saviour Rocco Berry on the other hand would not be worth the punt of an extension at this stage.

I'm pumped at the extension.

I agree I know he is a human being and it isn't his fault but when he popped his shoulder in the last round on a completely missed tackle where he didn't even make contact with the runner and had to leave the field with the trainer surely management had seen enough at that point. Or if he does come back and wants to play then he needs to do a Gannon or a Linnane and take a full years break from the game to heal properly and get whatever surgeries he needs done.

For eagle eyed trainspotting fans out there
Do you read the Daily Telegraph article and other articles like I do that this a two year extension for 2027 and 2028 and no upgrade for 2026?

Great news for us. On near double his current 550 so that would make him at our next 1 million dollar man. Its his team now and it feels good to have an identity as a club. The length is the most pleasing part. Perfect transition into the Thompson/Linnane/Inch era.

Not having a crack at you, but this just popped up for me on another feed and i just had to say 'wtf'? none of these would be on my wah's shopping list, not even close:

Do we actually have a mutual option on DWZ for 2027? How accurate is that?

Will be a godsend if we can decline the option end of next season.

I think we'll re-sign CHT and EIT over the offseason and then call it a day. Just wait for the season to play out for internal promotion to fill out the top 30. That would put us at 23 signed for 2027 so could also go to the market but you also have to factor in potential top 30 progression of guys like Salalilo, Kali, Bishop, Inch, Sikuvea, Tafua and even Hanson.

Berry is a chance of being re-signed late in the season potentially.

Still don't think CHT has a long term future in the halves but at the very least he's a stopgap until our younger halves are ready (like how Metcalf is) and then he can be a very impactful number 14 with his ability to play hooker and halves.

Our top 3 Centres are Leiataua, Pompey and Berry. Two have a history of injury and poor forn. However, their upsides are very good, especially when they string games together Pompey is the Mail man, he always delivers and is akways available . If not required at 6 maybe CHT could go there, maybe also TMM. Even CBJ again .
I wasn't going to ask but it is doing my head in. Who is CBJ?

we were missing Barnett and Ford was our starting prop in those games. 'Nuff said.

I hear your point though. Which is why I worded it as hold the fort rather than something more ambitious.
I do think Tanwah has a higher ceilng than what he showed and I hope for his sake Perth make him their key half. I think he is a good player.
Boyd looked like a deer in the headlights — lucky to scrape two wins after choking against the Knights (Leka’s miracle try) and TT’s short-side play vs the Dragons. He’s got 80-odd NRL games and dominates NSW Cup, but so did Ronald Volkman in 2023 — and look where he is now.

P.S. he is not worthy of ‘WAH’ added to his name

Cronulla centre Jesse Ramien has reportedly been offered to rival clubs as the Sharks manage salary-cap pressure.

He’s attracted interest from as many as six clubs, including the Titans — who could be looking to replace Brian Kelly.

Ramien is on around $500k a year and off-contract in 2026.

we should be all over this. Center is a genuine shit show for us, we can’t be running with Capewell as center cover in 2026 ffs
