Probably think all this now was his management being smart and drumming up a bigger deal even if Luke was always gonna prefer to stay in NZ

Daily telegraph reporting that his new contract is “almost double” that of his previous contract which was 500k/season.
To be honest probably worth it, the halves available are not great and we saw what happened with him out of the team, let him get his bag all the other options are not great at this time.

Also dont think there is anyone we could put that money towards that would benefit the team.

Success requires sacrifice. Moving back to Aus would be the easy route. Metcalf is always saying the right things if you listen to him. He wants to be a great of the game, not just a good player.

As I’ve mentioned before, him winning us our first prem puts him as a deity in NZ and in the HOF for NRL.

So Almost $1Million must be like 975 or 980. Can't be 990 or that would be a tease.

Here is Zero Tackles list of top salaries and there are not that many people making over $1M

Please don't have a crack at this post if you don't rate Zero Tackle. Thanks.

According to the source Moses is $1,3M as is Cleary. Hynes is on $1M exactly
So we are paying him as much as Nicho. I wonder if they did comparables like they do in real estate and compared him to Nicho. I would have Metcalf on a good day as being better than Hynes. so long as he recovers well from his injury.

Luke locked in. Watch the signings roll in now… CHT next.

The club have played their hand slowly, efficiently and effectively.

I expect one big name signing to come in for 2026 post 1 November.
I would say it would dictate the offers of everyone else.

CHT especially would probably be looking at a little upgrade now that the combo can stay together. He might have been moved on but I think if luke went he doesn’t go forward as our half.

The back half of the season suggests otherwise.
we were missing Barnett and Ford was our starting prop in those games. 'Nuff said.

I hear your point though. Which is why I worded it as hold the fort rather than something more ambitious.
I do think Tanwah has a higher ceilng than what he showed and I hope for his sake Perth make him their key half. I think he is a good player.
