The only thing that annoys me about potentially signing him, is that in the past hes laughed at the club advances.

A part of me thinks fuck you! Go play for someone else.

We dont actually need NAS. Hes not coming here and going another level. Enough of these types of signing for now. I say fir now because we have enough leaders at the club.

I would rather us have a crack at Griffin Neame. He can come here in 27 and that can off set Barnetts departure.
I haven't forgiven him for doing a wwf drop onto wade egans head at mt smart a few years back

Weekes is a lot bigger/physical than Linnane though.

It would be more similar to a Jye Gray transition than a Weekes transition.

He's under an inch shorter, 2kg lighter. Weekes had a couple years in and out of first grade before stepping up as nrl quality. Jye would need the same I'd say

Yeah but I think those Weekes measurements are outdated, he looks closer to 95kg now

No question Linnane is NRL quality. Will just be how looks after these injuries, like how much athleticism has been zapped from double knee reconstructions etc

Good to see him come over early too and hopefully a sign he wants to grab the opportunity with both hands. Good for Warriors to be overseeing his rehab with knights probably not inclined to put a lot into his rehab with him leaving end of the year either way

Does Kali play fullback? Potentially debut sometime next year, have TMM/TT cover FB and either sign someone for 27 or give Kali a go?

Otherwise CNK at the back is just gonna be same old
He played there all through HS for St Paul’s.

Not a bad shout but I think his game awareness needs to develop more.

I think he’s got a faster path to play wing in first grade next year. Then maybe after a couple of seasons could transition to fullback like RTS did

i think Putoko and Norris are more natural footballers and could more naturally play fullback imo.

Man it would be so great to have a season where we dont lose anyone to a major injury.

I would even pay bonuses to the physio medical team if they could pull this off.

Watching the Raiders shit the bed shows you need at least 1 genuine star who will step up in the clutch moments to win a comp.
You got Cleary, Walsh, Hughes, Grant and Munster for storm that’s why they’re the only 3 teams who can win it this year and next.
I think Metcalf will be that guy for us, and don’t think we can win a comp without him any time soon
You are right, but metcalf cant survive a season to make it to the big games. Maybe having him start halfway through next season we could see this happen.

When you look at the likes of Billy Smith or Robert Toia, they had a terrible run with injuries but are young. Perseverance does seem to pay off but a double edged sword when a player is taking up salary cap a a roster spot but can’t stay on the field. Metcalf is a bit different nearing 27 but his impact is undeniable

What was noticeable this year with Metcalf was his nerve for big moments and with the likes of Tanah Boyd and Jamal Fogarty that some players struggle in this area. Would be disappointing for him not to stick around beyond next year but the closer it gets towards November, the more I get the feeling that the rumours of him wanting to head home after next year might be true

Hopefully the rumour mill is wrong. We desperately need his X factor as a previous poster said to go far into this comp every team needs at least one genuine star. I prefer that guy to be getting plenty of touches

There’s not a lot we can do about it if it’s on the cards. Confident in the club to have a plan in place though, losing AFB was a huge loss but we came out of it ok with JFH. Definitely not like for like in output but a massive signing for us. We’ve got some money so we can either throw an offer his way that he struggles to reject being that we’re in a good position to potentially challenge for a premiership if they see him that important, or we can put that money towards some strike on the field in other positions. Some exciting young players coming through too
