These do my head in - six weeks from when!? Until when?!

Without a frame of reference the whole "X weeks" thing is a waste of time.
Mine too.

Six weeks for Laban I think you can safely take that as six weeks from today minimum.

I was surprised to keep reading people expecting him back soon.

Personally if six weeks as of today is accurate, I take that as a good sign, that is soon for that injury.

What a depressing team thread. Aside from the team named.

The most liked posts are the ones saying we will definitely lose and we have no choice but to stick with selections and tactics that got us here and lose gracefully?

Where has that gotten us over the past two months? We had a pretty easy run home and have looked lost at sea.

And apparently the people who 'moan' and want change or to chance our arm a bit are the negative nancies? Please.

'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results'. Our results have not been good in quite some time.

The whole week has been a non event hype wise. No matter what messages are coming from headquarters and the team.
I actually prefer this. Game 1 of the season was so over hyped. Yes I know it was Vegas but still, it was a massive distraction to the team I felt and our performance reflected that. The less hype going out this week the better IMO. Hopefully that means few distractions and they are focused on the task at hand. Can we ambush the 5 peat attempting Panthers despite our form of the last two months or more?

Imagine you are Ivan Cleary and his players and you read that the Warriors are pulling a stunning trick by rolling out a new look NSW cup bolstered side.

They'd be shitting themselves.

I'm not saying they need to do that, but there are options for changes to be made, nothing overly radical.

Someone like Healey who has performed basically in every game and at least has the ability to open the game up a little, which is one of our biggest weaknesses is now probably dropped barring a late change.

Even the people saying Webby is right to trust the players and conservative play style that got us here are saying we will lose.

As we saw v Melbourne in 08 nothing is a forgone conclusion, but we are not putting ourselves in much of a position to win with this team and style....and that should be our aim, to win.

The thing is, finals football requires an upping of intensity. Call it peaking if you like. The majority of the other sides apart from maybe the dogs and sharks are ramping it up.
We just don't seem capable of doing that but of course, miracles do happen.
Interesting that the Dogs who play a similar style to us are starting to fall off the cliff.

The Mt could be wet, not sure if that will help or hinder us?

I think it's the timeframe from when the injured happened.

It said Finals originally for Laban. For some reason Round 25 changed from saying what round they will be back to how long the injury should take to heal*, and that's where Six Weeks came up. This is the sixth week Laban has been on the injured list, so he could be back next week if the timeline was correct, but that does seem a bit hopeful for a broken leg?

Lussick was down as 2-3 weeks (in R26), this is the third week since the injury occurred and he has been named in the Cup team.

Good to see Ali has a timeline now (1-2 weeks), has been 'Indefinite' for a while up until now.

* Maybe it makes sense for the change due to the season coming to an end.

We might have Leiataua healthy for the grand final

The NRL has issued an extraordinary warning to players to stop blocking aerial threats like Xavier Coates and Mark Nawaqanitawase or risk being sin-binned in the finals series.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported the NRL has taken the step of warning coaches of the eight finals teams that they face being binned if they use illegal blocking tactics.

Sources with knowledge of the situation not authorised to speak publicly confirmed the coaches were sent the pre-finals memo on Thursday by NRL clubs liaison officer David Fairleigh.

The coaches were also told players could be sanctioned for dissent, while a teammate would be ordered to play the ball if a player stayed down and feigned injury.

Hopefully we are going to utilize Dallin and Leka with this directive.
Also tell Dallin to stop feigning injury!
