Pick Your Team Warriors vs Penrith [Finals , Week 1 2025]

Just watching him on the wing when the ball is going his side he looks so fucking lost. His situational awareness is nonexistent. How the fuck Webby keeps picking him when his game plan is all about defence totally baffles me….
I hate that he had to make his first choice. They stripped us for numbers so well. Our defence had three on two and for a split second four on three.

And we were so compressed that Dallin had no hope of staying out and actually covering them. He was stranded and even then he was defending at about Rocco's spot. Such a mess

If Webby hopes to win against Penrith with defense, then he has to drop DWZ.

DWZ is the weakest link in our team

Put TT on the wing.
Leka at Center and we look much stronger defensively

DWZ does not suit Webbys game plan.
Its been proven.

Our only hope in beating Penrith is to strangle them on D, put them under constant pressure until they make a mistake.
We wont match them with attack so CNK needs to be make his tackles as the last line!

Its all about Defense if we want to win. Grind it out
Weird idea I have.

1. Dwizzy
2. Taine
3. Charnzey

My grip with DwZ is that even when he pushes in he’s literally on Lekas shoulder or completely wrong footed so even if the inside center doesnt pass DWZ’s tackle will be nothing but a shoulder grab. He is literally 1/10 in his decision making on the outside. The one being the fluke intercept pass.

Everyone keeps saying it’s the insides fault. It can’t be the insides fault every single time. And even if it was, as an experienced winger you should be in a situation to try and defuse it the way TT is able to by reading the play and understanding the spacing and shape of the attack.

Truely disappointed and frustrated in Webby in continuing to give this guy a pass week in and week out

That's a fair gripe bro.

Taking a small sample size. Manly s first try. Fish marked prop. Marata marked Cherry. I think once he passed it. Both Marata and Tanah had committed and we got burned by Manlys four blokes who drew Dallin in because even once CNK came across to help it became Rocco and Dal on three of them. Too easy and callous in it's execution. And Dallin bites every time.

One to 17 will be the same as Friday night barring injuries.
It's finals. Webby will want an old head replacing Berry so Capewell to go into the centres and a replacement for him in the forwards.
Egan will be back if he's ok to play.
Did I see somewhere that EIT is going to be good to play?

Next season we may see some changes but not this week
What makes u say he’ll want an old head replacing berry? I’d want someone who actually worry’s the opposition

The funniest thing from the Boyd era is Webby realising he wasn't cutting it and putting TMM in against the Dogs when it was known even before TLT that it was going to be monsoon season in Sydney. The one game Boyd would actually suit the game. TMM proceeds to get knocked out and then Webby pretends he never made that decision and goes back to Boyd.

I don't really care either way as both are flawed, just a really strange coaching decision and pretty funny.

I suggest we park the doomsday forecasts for next week and get in behind the boys. Of course the players don't read this forum but their whanau probably do so let's give them self believe in case it is infectious from them to the players. If we do lose we can pick the bones apart for 6 months before next season starts but for now let's suggest strategies to maximise our chances of winning.

My favourite movie when I was 16 was Bloodsport - Well the playoffs in the NRL is like going to the Kumite. Let's get the hype machine going and pick up the energy levels. Pretend these fighters in this clip getting ready for the Kumite are each NRL team in the top 8 and of course we are Jean Claude Van Damme.

It's the Playoffs. We are in it !!!! We are not going to be like kids with our noses pressed against the window watching everyone else like past years in most of our franchise history. In my history of fandom since 2018 this is my third time going to the big dance. Let's Get it on !!! History will be made for our franchise next week one way or the other.

If we can do a dim muk on Penrith that would be epic.

Bummer. His versatility is ideal in #17.
As others pointed out EIT will play because Webster said so. Most likely EIT will be jacked up on painkillers.. We have a far better chance of winning if our 17th man is EIT instead of TSS.

Because Laban was not in the 24 this week I don't think we see him before week 2 of the playoffs despite the NRL casualty ward saying he is ready for finals.

Most likely team
1 TT
2 Dallin - No Kosi is not playing
3 CNK
4 Pompey
5 Roger
6 CHT
7 Boyd
8 Fish
9 Egan
10 Ford -
11 Niukore
12 Capewell
13 Clark

14 TMM
15 Vaimauga
16 Leka
17 EIT

18th man Healey

Our best chance of winning is Ford to play 65 minutes and gamble on him not being penalised for once in his life.

If I were the coach I would go with a different bench of

14 TMM
15 Vaimauga
16 Leka
17 Healey

Some coaches do play a spare hooker and a back utility....I would do it in a big match like that as you don't want to lose due to an injury to a key player.
