CHT has a 67% win record too over 18 games, yet he still has his detractors. Time will tell for sureHe has a 66% win record so far so no complaints. Still to early to judge him, time will tell.

Its not self explanatory at all. You have completely misinterpreted it.I think it was pretty self explanatory that he was unhappy not getting an opportunity.
You’ve posted this before but had no reasonable explanation as to why he’d bother posting such a cryptic message. I don’t really know to be fair, but neither do you to dismiss it as nothingIt’s not self explanatory at all. You have completely misinterpreted it.
As much as the Mrs expects it, I don't think we should be attempting to be mind readers here and hence the debate is futile. You’ve posted this before but had no reasonable explanation as to why he’d bother posting such a cryptic message. It wasnt cryptic. Just because people read tea leaves, doesnt make them crypticYou’ve posted this before but had no reasonable explanation as to why he’d bother posting such a cryptic message. I don’t really know to be fair, but neither do you to dismiss it as nothing
Exactly he doesn’t have to flog players the way he does. He can bring back Metcalf slowly and Barnett. No more playing players with injuries. He has more than enough depth nowWebby is our most talented player and I hope he reflects and fixes up these issues for the next season
- Egan - 60min max per game or 3 games per month max
- Ford - 50min max if no breaks given and routine rests during the season
- Leka - 60min max per game no more 80s
- Continue the mandatory stand downs for SOO reps to leave no psychological regrets
- Thr Metcalfs need to be rested if he might not be able to complete a game (Raiders at home - done by halftime)
- Berries and Dallins with serious injuries need cup time to build back match fitness and form before FG
- Start Laban as he’s got more pace, power, hard working D and has an awesome aerial game. Better for our right edge D too. Marata to cup as middle cover or released
Our pack and depth will be even better next year when we get Barney back
Maybe our backline will be better with Metcalf back with more experience and Boyd having an extended run to be able to maintain the momentum when needed. CHT will be better again. Still think TMM offers more threats. Healey will progress again too. Hope Linnane gets injected in the later half of the year for 2027
Not sure what he can do with CNK ball hog out wide on attack![]()
We probably all have this seasonPoor old Webby, he's aged 10 years in the last 10 months
Great summation JLSO. I would add Webster could benefit from having a director of football or whatever to mentor him in matters like making the most from his bench. Someone like John hart , Bennett or someone similar to bounce ideas off. We certainly need at lease one OB with pace preferably 2.Found this season quite weird, it’s established a few things:
Basically set up to be hovering around 4-8 for a long time, is that what people want though? Will they want more? Will Alpha want more? As bad as the post ivan years have been – I’ll certainly take it.
- Webster is the real thing, keep him for as long as he wants to stay, never let him get to the last year of his deal
- Young forwards are the real thing, just need luck with injury.
- There is a risk that our pack next year is four old guys on the decline, three young guys going through ups and downs and only Clark in the prime of his career.
- Metcalf has it (or enough of it to lock him down)
- CHT, CNK and Egan are good professionals and tradesmen, but we aren’t winning a comp without at least one more spine player that can generate attack.
- Roger has years left as a winger if he wants to keep doing that role
- The other three outside back spots are completely up for grabs, Pompey is great to have around, but he’s not a lock in.
- We either can’t attract high profile players, or aren’t really trying to. Every signing is either a youth or a temporary fill in. Even our likely POTY, was going to be a benchie and Jazz replacement at the time they signed him.
- This long term view is smart to ensure we are consistent finals team, it will be frustrating for those who live and die with every game, that they either can’t or won’t do shorter, expensive deals to get a gun OB or a unit of a prop.

With the development system really starting to bear fruit - the injection of enthusiasm provides is pretty invaluable.Love the post mate.
Most fans will be upset at anything less than a finals apperance. I struggle with where to "project" us going forward. I feel like once Leka and Laban are ready to be first choice 2nd rowers, and we've got a long term combination in the halves then we are challengers for the title. Which is about 2 years away.
For the worry around how old the pack is, in two years that would mean JFH wold be barrnett's current age, Ford would be JFH's age. and Both TSS and Vaimauga would be 23. That's a pretty good 4 prop rotation. Gannon and clark wold be very good locks. That is still a very good middle to me.
Heavily agree on the lack of a gun OB, or at least some youth there. But hopfully next year we can get Setu Tu, or Haizyn Mellars into a few FG games.
I have been really surprised at how well we've gone so far this year. I truely expected 12-8th. But with how well the changing of the guard and the promotion of youth has been handled by webby and the greater coaching staff. I could see that "long time" being as short as two years.

Setu Tu should be nowhere near FG, hes a cup grinder, like Doyle, and Going. And you need a few experienced cup lads.Love the post mate.
