Knights were the ones that blocked Hetherington from finishing 2025 somewhere else despite him having no contact there for 2026. The person with the information is very reliable, Barry Toohey at knights is close to the club. Raiders are in the middle of extensions for a some players apparently. They trying to lock down Kaeo Weekes long term and have a couple of props can be negotiated with in November being Moriata and Saulo. Papalii leaving might see Mooney with more game time, but the other two being extended could see Mooney surplus?

I know of Toohey, where has he stated that out of interest? I can't see anything.

CWC Marata has his final year with us next season.

Knights have signed 26 year old prop Peter Hola for 2026. He is currently playing Qld cup but has played 15 NRL games for Cowboys and Canberra up till last year.

Jack Hetherington had interest from Manly and Warriors, but they both backed out when they found how much money he is on for the rest of this year.

POS has an eye on Trey Mooney because of rumours he is unhappy with his lack of game time in Canberra, but can't talk to him because he is still contracted next year. He is also looking at a number of other props.

Jack Hilliar was given permission to look elsewhere and was snapped up by the bulldogs.

Knights tried hard to sign TDS but he is still living at home with his parents and was never leaving Sydney. Toohey says Knights haven't ruled out going for Reed Mahony - which sounds like he asked them and they wouldn't deny it.

Hope POS is interested in Marata, can't believe he's a passenger again in the team now, even if paying 50% freight that's still around $400K saving

Who's TDS still living at home? Trump Derangement Syndrome? 🤣

That's just a forum post, not words from the mouth of Toohey form what I know. Anyway, I would read that as him being shopped by the club, we go back with "oh yeah, how much? Not minimum wage? Mate you're dreaming.."

There’s a complete thread of what he reports somewhere in Newcastle that some posters break down into the main points because it’s behind a paywall I think? The latest post on there is the article from Toohey that’s behind a paywall

Tyrone Munro is locked up the Rabbitos for 2025, 2026 and 2027 - He is who I would target for an outside back signing if we can bring him over early.
He is pretty pants at edge defence but can spot tackle effectively. But he has real gas to burn. He is not as fast as Hammer but would be at the next level down if we were to rate all the outside backs in the NRL. Definitely in the top ten for speed just not the top 5.

He is only 20 years old and has added some real bulk to his chest allowing him to hit it up out of his own end with very good PCMs.

Surely Crosby gets elevated to top 30 next year, he’s 22 and way too good of an athlete to be on a development deal next year. He’ll get snapped up by another nrl side or union.
I think he'll get one of the 6 development contracts, with a chance of a debut late next year.

I don't think he's done enough to force his way straight into top 30.

Salalilo is 2-3 years younger, has more potential, just as good in NSW cup, way more likely to be targeted by rivals. and I doubt even he goes straight into top 30 without a development contract first next year.

When was the last time a homegrown wahs player skipped a development contract straight into top 30 since it was brought in?

Apparently this guy is available. If there’s any truth of interest in Gagai, I’d take Averillo over him. Can play most positions in the backline

He's quite a unique player in that, I don't think he has a higher ceiling than either of our top centre options (Berry, Ali) but he appears to be injury free, fast, and can play multiple positions.

Id consider him on the cheap but we'd probably need to sink 500k + to get him here

The two games he’s played at fullback were impressive results. 44-8 against bulldogs and 58-4 against cowboys. I’d take him over Berry at this point

I watched him at Mt Smart two weeks back and didn't see what the hype is about. Busyish for a few minutes not big impact but solid and then puffed out after 10. Only one game though so I don't really know shit but that's what I saw.

His stats are always good, great post contact and quick for a big man. He's dynamic - But your are right, he needs to be playing more minutes before he would be close to NRL. Hopefully he gets a development contract, and can continue to build up for NRL.
