I think Boyd couldn't get it done last year for Le Titan
Titans fans were glad to be rid of him
They grudgingly say he can kick well and tackle well.
I deep dove into his stats for Titans when he first came to the warriors in the off season. He made by memory 2 errors per game before he was dropped
He looks amazing when he plays for NSW cup and shows better than TMM in the same games playing along side each other. I don't think however NSW cup form matters very much.
I suspect that Webster will be aware of all of the above, and won't really care that much abut 6th tackle kicking options. I see this halves pairing going to TMM 7 and CHT at 6. Taine to come in at fullback. Maybe Boyd gets 17th man as some sort of emotional token recompense that makes sense in Webster's mind.

Would have to be a massive U turn from everyone acknowledging TMM isnt wanted next year

He is a 5/8 in nsw cup. he plays a running game and leaves the game management/kicking to Boyd. Boyd runs the show (6th on average kick metres per game in the comp, whereas Martin is 37th(i guess when his kick accidently skews forward).

We all know how his nsw cup form has translated to first grade in the past when playing in the same exact position.

Just for shit and giggles, Morgan Harper is one of the top post contact metres per game in the NSW Comp. Anyone want him ahead of Kosi? And we all know how bad Kosi can be and essentially go forward is the only skillset he has as a winger.

There has to be a reason with TMM.

Mind not on the job? more interested in extracurricular activities? who knows. Most fans think TMM is a handy player to have in reserve, if we can see that, the coaches sure as hell can see it too.

4 Halves is excessive and it's the most likely reason he is unsigned. He's too good for reserve and he knows it but I also think he wants to stay in NZ rather than get a pay and say move to Super League. With Metcalf's injury he might get resigned now if Metcalf is going to be out for an entire year. Even if he's back say round 2 of next year, then you are banking on just Boyd and CHT unless they think Hanson is ready.

I'm excited to see how Boyd goes with the Warriors in the NRL. In his time here he has been very professional in waiting for his chance. It's unfortunate for Metcalf but this is the only way Boyd was going to have a shot. I have similar feelings about CNK and Tuaupiki coming in. They're both different to the players they are replacing, but theoretically they should still work with our gameplan, perhaps even more so.

Not sure what to do with TMM, he's a good player but the way he's being used isn't making much impact and seems more likely that he's mainly there in case of in game injuries. Almost wondering if he should play #7 in cup and be next in line in case something else bad happens. Doing that would allow more spark in #14 with Healy.

If Boyd consolidates and the start of next year is Boyd/CHT, makes sense for TMM to be first drop and play 7 at cup as others said, since we have Gannon taking up a spot and we probably have a packed Gannon/Ford/Leka/Demi bench, and you still have Barney to return.

Otherwise one of the starting halves go down in pre-season as usual for the last 3 times (Luke-SJ-Boyd) we're giving the keys to Hansen/Jett/Jye

Just use Luke's pre-injury upgrade money to cover part of TMM's salary for 2026. Unless they want to shift CHT to 7 and TT or one of juniors as 6 when injury hits, that looks more of a gamble than just extend TMM for a year.

Wonder if moving forward Webster does put Tmm in at 6 alongside Boyd?
Chanel doesn't deserve to lose his spot but he would offer great utility value too.

I opted for Boyd/CHT but sheesh the ‘holic puts a good case forward for Boyd/TMM……I just have an issue with changing both halves spots when we don’t have to, would be safe to say CHT would be kinda filthy if he gets dropped back to 14 and rightly so
