Dam origin, this should rightly have been the match of the round.

Top four club vs the fighting for their lives Premiers, with Sundays fixture Broncos vs Sharks taking second billing as a lower eight clash.

Never mind, there are two more rounds this season where the Warriors will take top billing for the NRL (Broncos and Dogs).

But yeah, this weekend should have been a big buzz for the fans were it not for their stupid little provincial Kangaroo trials.

It's not the NRL's fault that Penrith is in this predicament of being an edge 8 team at best this year. If they had played better this year, this whole origin thing would not be an issue, as it hasn't been in previous years.

Picking out a draw a year in advance, without knowing how each team will go in the subsequent years, is always a tough business and things are going to be overlooked. Every club is going to get the rough end of the stick at some pt of the year. To Ivan's credit, he's not complaining nearly as hard as Penrith fans about this origin draw. He's just getting on with the job and making sure they do the best they can against us. Something that AOB could learn.

I thought it was just me that is still waiting to see why we have this guy on our books and why some rate him.

There was a time I didn't understand what the club saw in Jazz Tevanga on debut either.

As I understand Stowers Smith was not fit enough, then impressed the coaches with how hard he has been working to get where he is now.

Looks like a work rate type signing rather than a dynamic signing eh.

I wonder whether the club sees a future Erin Clark type hearty player that has the attitude for NRL and like Clark, might need a few years to become a hearty little beast.

That is what happened with Jazz too. Not great early doors, matures and becomes a hearty type player that every pack benefits from.

It says a lot about him at his age that he is reflective, insightful, articulate, and able to see a positive from a hugely testing experience.

He is quite mature with that outlook and a bit of a thinker, adding that to his MOM performance at the weekend against the Sharks in the clubs best game under Webster, specifically that no looker he popped for Fish....

I am sensing the force is strong in this one....till now I only had the impression he was another barge and banger.

He might be a good room mate for Morgan Gannon with that experience he had during Covid and Gannon losing two years in his career, turning lemons into lemonade, and I think they could each teach other a thing or two with both being viewed as kids with some ball playing.

And Gannon is a nice boy, humble. Hope these two click, look out...the bald bros return as two bigger, more lethal, ball playing bench forwards with hair this time and bit of Whiter shade of pale.

I’ve never forgotten his highlight reel that has him as a young kid chase down a much bigger kid, pick him up and drag him into touch. Seems to have a natural desire to win

the draw might seem rough during the moment but things always even out. Like the sharks fans who have been complaining about their extensive travel so far (only having two games at Shark Park since round 3). Their end to the season is loaded with home games because of it. Same as us. So the fact that we are this high up with so many home games to come is what is so promising for us. Conversely teams like Manly and the Dragons are really screwed because their start was front loaded with home games. They really needed to be at the pointy end of the ladder by this pt in order to be a factor this year.

When I said I am still waiting to see why we signed him, I should have added a caveat that unlike many, I have 100% faith in McFadden.

As soon as Cappy says go, I am a believer (I believe I will see what they see soon enough and am happy to wait for it).

I will watch his games more and look at the technical side from here like the ptb.

The team were in a huddle clutching the hoe (paddle) and Tanner was on the outside of the group on his own...a lonely place, he joins the circle last and puts a hand on the shoulder of his team mates from outside the circle.

I felt that moment in my heart.

The Warriors need to sort that shit out.

When someone is on Debut, ask them to hold the Hoe as the others gather around.

Sort out your Tikanga.
