There was a lot to like about that game. It was a tough arm wrestle. I am really surprised the Raiders didn't wind up with more people in the bin, and the CNK bin was rough.

But still, a loss is a loss and we were probably due one. Hopefully that lights a fire under some asses and we come back stronger next week.
agree, I'm not the most analytical lover of our great and beautiful game, but I loved the ways our young guns responded to the niggle and aggro from the older bulls from the milk drinkers (trying to be funny and not succeeding), kudos to capewah, ford, Marata and Erin they put in some awesome tackles, very absorbing game, thoroughly enjoyed the game, can't wait for the next game. weird thing for me was like I was watching the kiwis play the kangaroos and my emotions really got involved in the game. also had to watch the game with the sound muted, I think that's the only way I survive each game, the commenters really annoy me.

Like others said we missed the leadership

Going for the jugular at 8:0 with a man down was the right call, we coughed it up, conceded a try, then a Pompey dumb play when we should have protected the lead at HT

Probably a bit of panic in attack especially towards the end. Plan was go out early to attack centres, but the wet really nullified it by lack of execution. LM going for solo runs I thought was due to no shape, outnumbered and he had to back himself, not your typical ball hog. CHT better pick himself up and not start fading like last year, need to fix his compulsory 1 per game knock ons.

We missed Capewell and dear I say it Berry's sprints on kick chases big time. (Cape's on the left)

The pack dropping balls, penalties and falling off tackles in the 2nd half, that's where the unseen influence of leaders is missed

One thing I really didn't understand.

Metcalf put two bombs up that DWZ contested, one we had a knock on from Tamale, and the other one Tamale knocked it forward where another Raiders player grabbed it (side note: we held them down in the tackle blatently so we could contest, and the ref let it go?! Imo that was bull shit because he knew if we contested it, we would have got the ball back)....so why the fook did we not compete for the ball every single time in the air? Time and time again we kicked it 10m too long so Dallin couldnt compete?

At worst, we lose 10m if we kick it a bit shorter and we compete, and they regather well. At best, I reckon if we try that 10 times we get the ball back 5 or 6 times....madness I say

Our kicking game for AW term is debately alway 10 metres too long
The ball receiver is under no pressure
Compare this to Fogarty
Our ball recievers were under enormous pressure cause he kicks it to the moon and a little bit shorter than our long long kicks
It’s an AW rule - Sj used to do it too

Do you reckon that's a deliberate tactic? I was hoping it was just shit execution by LM, because if that IS a tactic...why the fook would anyone want that?

You're spot on, look at how many we dropped because we had someone in our face. Yes, you might cause a penalty or two (like they did) but they also got plenty of reward with several dropped balls

Thought (I might be wrong) that Metcalf has added height to his kicking 🤔

No happy dance and happy song Instagram videos this week. Just the post mortem scalpels and rightly so criticisms.

If Webby reckons people didn't know their roles in attack then what the flying function were they practising last week?

At least we won the pre match stadium hype.
