Looking superficially at the closeness of our five game run, it's easy to dismiss us as being lucky as many critics in Aussie tend to do. All this complaining about our p/d is case in pt. How can a team with p/d of +5 be 2nd? That's a common question that the Aussie commentators are asking on a weekly basis now.

Now If we were winning a couple of games by 1-2 pts but had also lost a couple by the same margin, I'd understand. But if we consistently win all those tight games (8 now), then I'd suggest it's no longer luck but a systematic pattern. It's no accident that teams tend to have their worst games against us. Dolphins last week completely at 90%+ but this week essentially completed at the 60% level for most of this game. Their usually silky attack that put 40+ on Melbourne and 30 on Canberra was nowhere to be seen. Cows were flying before they played us. Now they've turned to s***t. I'd argue that in many ways the Broncos form slump really began with their loss to us.

None of this is flukey or accidental. As Phil Gould said last week, we are the hardest team to play against because of the relentless pressure we place teams under over the entirety of the 80 minutes. Eventually the pressure takes its toll and the idiot genes of the opposition playmakers are activated. Walsh's extra time shenanigans is case in point.

Of course we'd like a stronger p/d. But if we keep winning and other teams continue to win and lose on a more sporadic fashion, it's not going to matter in the end because we'll get so far ahead of the chasing pack pts wise. We're already 4 pts ahead of 4th, 6 pts ahead of 6th and 8 pts ahead of the chasing pack (8th-12th). If we knock off the raiders this week at home, we'll also be 4 pts ahead of 3rd and secure in 2nd place.

Completely disagree. TT got his timing wrong, DWZ got the decision making wrong, to go with his deteriorating speed.

Also I didn’t say he should spend time in cup, I said he should be replaced.
I mean DWZ is getting on, he absolutely needs to be moved on soon. But I am addressing the criticism you see here in these forums and in every social media thread that DWZ is jamming, and why is he always jamming and he needs to go back to cup to learn not to jam etc etc. which is wrong. He's clearly taking the approach he's been coached to take as apart of our defensive system. You say he got it wrong twice, I've watched a replay too. He and Capewell as an edge defense pair were consistently shutting down those lateral spreads super effectively. The Dolphins have far more pace than us, they just had no opportunity to use it for 90% of the game

I guess the issue is that Capewell did an amazing job sweeping around behind him, but also being effective in the tackle when doing so also. Can our other centres do that?

Watching Erin Clark on crowd goes wild during the week, he mentioned that they want to be a pack to be feared and I think we’re just seeing them putting that into practice

Feared but disciplined

DWZ least seem to be more involved this week ... hopefully he keeps improving like RTS they both have insane game winning skills on their day ..but also I wouldn't pay over to keep them not with the young talent around

Kotoni Staggs. Valentine Holmes. Herbie Farnworth. Capewell's taken down three of the league's best centers over the last 4 weeks. Why did we ever doubt him?
I'll say it again, Capwah plays better at centre than lock. I never would have thought it would happen, but it does. great to have a player who can cover many positions ..

TSS looked solid ... have the Wahs ever looked this strong across both the FG and Cup teams?

Capewah and Pomps is probably the best defensive center combination we have. I'd trust Pomps with any assignment at this pt. Certainly not the best attackers, but defense is what wins games which is why the top 2 teams are the top 2 defensive teams, not the top 2 attacking ones. Timoko and Kris will have a much tougher time getting through those two than they did against the tits.

Regarding our pathways, I think we made 3 grand finals in the last year of Cleary (NRL, 💙 Mighty NSW Cup and U20s). Could have become a goat club if we didn't let him go all those years back and screw up all that hard work. I'm thinking we don't make the same mistake this time with Webby in charge.

No I completely agree with all that. Also, to be fair. He's only two games into his season. We'll see better from him.

I understand origin teams aren't necessarily picked on form, but still fascinating that only 3 out of the top 10 Dally M performers were named in either origin side. Also, Mets would be leading this by over 10 pts if he was playing for a Sydney club. Every clutch win for us (which is essentially all our wins) has been because of him.
