Team List Dolphins vs Warriors - [Round 11, 2025]

In terms of talent this is one of our best backlines of the year with DWZ, RTS, TT, CNK and the Pompadour all being worthy of selection and dangerous. I get that positionally it is not ideal but we could do worse than Roger at centre who spent most of last year (if my memory serves me) in that position. Sure it would be better with Ali (or maybe Rocco) at centre but it is still pretty potent looking, assuming we can play well within our team system.

Our forward pack looks great, including a fairly, big young (in the case of big Jacob and Demi) and aggressive trio. The last position, whether it be TMM or TSS is interesting. As others have said we may not neeeeeeeed TMM given Capewah back to the pack. I also think we should kick down their front door and go stright up fatmans alley all game.

We have the pack to do it. The Ace is Egan. If our pack dominates and he run amok, our halves and fullback could destroy them through the middle a la Melbourne vs the Tigers.

Does anyone suspect Luke or CHT has a few niggles? If I had to guess I would maybe say Luke? It really is the only explanation that we continue to see TMM consistently over Healey for mine. Capewell covers backs, and TMM is in to cover the halves I think. That or we really want to keep him and showing him we are doing our best.
I don't think there's much to it. TMM was just there to cover the back line as Capewell was in the centres.

Probably one of our better looking teams on paper in a while, especially the backline

I hope RTS keeps up his pre-injury form, he was looking at home on the wing before he was hamstrung. Assuming he’ll take a lot of the workload for our play 2s, improves ruck speed etc.

More confident now of a win. It’ll be a much better watch hopefully than the dragons game, that was just physical and yuck

Co-captaining is a very interesting concept.

This is probably one of the few ways that it actually works.

Clark is very vocal during the game and apparently Metcalf has a way with words too.

It appears we have a pretty confident player base with this lot. They know their jobs, they chime in when they are needed and they're navigating each others strengths and weaknesses.

Pretty good signs for the future.
Plus playing games under in game fatigue and pressure from lots of tackling and accounting for injuries on the run is galvanising our team so far.

Signs this season are that we are improving the right stuff. And we still have time for customised hair styles and nineteen step hand shakes and such. Still can't beat Nigel Vagana doing the X hands try celebration from those wrestling blokes.

Warriors team: 1. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 2. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak 3. Adam Pompey 22. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck 5. Taine Tuaupiki 6. Chanel Harris-Tavita 7. Luke Metcalf 8. James Fisher-Harris 9. Wayde Egan 10. Mitchell Barnett 4. Kurt Capewell 11. Leka Halasima 13. Erin Clark 12. Marata Niukore 14. Te Maire Martin 15. Jacob Laban 16. Demitric Vaimauga 18. Eddie Ieremia 20. Tanner Stowers-Smith

Players cut: 17. Samuel Healey 21. Tanah Boyd 23. Moala Graham-Taufa

Late Mail: A big boost for the Warriors with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck locked in to make his comeback in the centres, having been sidelined by a hamstring injury since round three. That means Kurt Capewell will shift into the second row, with Marata Niukore dropping back to the bench. Samuel Healey is now out of the 17.

Ed Kosi has been a reason to trust the process this season. Niukore to the middle as well. Capewell at centre even. Pompey as the glue guy. Young guys getting runs on the board. The process the process the process.

So why am I borderline depressed that our apparently best winger is at centre?

Please.... Mr. Process. Show me the way.
I suppose the main thing is Pomps is marking Herbie's edge, I'm not so worried now.

Of good news in my mind is the fact that even though our second halves of late have been defensive because of possession etc. The punches we throw up front in the first halves have also drained the opposition. Eg: When the cowboys made their miraculous almost comeback win, they kept making fatigue induced mistakes. Like Drinky offloads to their co captain lock who's name I can't remember who the knocks on.

1. They are as tired as us. Even with possession and less tackles they have to make.

2. They choke. We hold
