NRL Ladder Predictions 2025

Taking stock after magic round. We are 6-2. We are basically halfway to finals. Need at least 6 wins (7 to guarantee). Looking at the draw, it's not inconceivable to think we could get all of those wins at Mt Smart alone. Raiders in 3 weeks without their origins stars. Then we play Penrith 3 days after the Perth origin game so there is no chance Cleary, Edwards and co play against us. After that it's Tigers, Titans, Dragons and Eels at home to wrap the season. Just win all of those and we are at 12 wins and essentially in finals.

Who will the Raiders lose for Origin? Hudson Young - who is a strong player for them. Maybe Horse?

We potentially will be without Barney, Capewell and unlikely, but possibly Egan?

It’s becoming a bit of a myth
That we will win games
When origin is on
Target is now on our back
Be careful Wahs
One game at a time
Till we make playoffs
If we do
Roosters starting to move
Raiders full of young goers
Red V next
no need to talk finals
If u can’t make 8
Good start to season
Early days

Predictions are pure guess work.
The ultimate point of difference is injuries.
One injury to say H.Grant or Cleary or Crighton can be/is a game changer. We are the same with Metcalf in his current form

So 7-9 and we're in the top 8, I think we're aiming for top 4, 10-6, or top 2, 12-4, given the number of upsets this season, maybe 11-5 would be enough for No.2 (GF is in Sydney anyway so no difference between 1st and 2nd)

Would be poetic if we play Raiders in the GF lol, full circle

The Warriors' Origin period advantage to me has been blown out of proportion.

We may have climbed the ladder or played weaker teams during that period in the early 2000's or the mid 2010's. Now we have byes during that period like all of the other sides.

The journalists have latched on to it and keep regurgitating it. When it used to happen, we'd have a lot of international players who would come back to training in the off-season late. We'd start slow and build during the season.

The draw and how they schedule Origin have changed.

Even if it was an advantage, when was the last time we took advantage of it and climbed the table? The years we haven't made the top 8 recently have barely warranted a "will we make the 8 thread". The journalists will still parrot on about this is when we will pick up wins or in some instances complain it is unfair. Even though it's a recruitment and marketing advantage for the other sides having Origin players.

Besides Capewell at the end of his career. We'd had to turn players into Origin level instead of recruit them.

We don't even get to play baby broncos this year, 2 byes in 4 weeks, and Raiders as the other game when players are away

we play Penrith at Mt Smart, 3 days after the Perth Origin game. I doubt Cleary will play his origin stars for that game given the extremely short turn around and travel from Perth to Auckland. Even if teams play their origin stars against us, there will be a drop off in their performance given the intensity of the SOO arena. That's why I like the fact that we play Cronulla and Broncos away during the origin period this year.
