Long time forum lurker but day 1 WWOL (Warriors Way Of Life) faithful. Born and raised in Westmere Auckland. Played rep footy in age groups in cricket, gridiron, tag, rugby and league. Played overseas and got rep honors there to play senior rep footy. Best advice from my dad…rugby is a game where blokes like to cuddle and roll over together…league is where men man up and run it. Only played rugby due to school and got suspended back in the day because I was playing league outside of school.

Born in Christchurch. Lived here all my life apart from 3 months in Aussie and 3 years in Somerset UK back in my early 20s.

Conceived in Auckland, born in CHCH then Mum and Dad moved back up to Auckland when I was about 1 year old…..Mum hated it down there (she’s from up north, Nga Puhi) Dad was on the run apparently 😬 but followed her and I back up here and he got snapped, Dad was a Auckland born Kuki and I’ve lived all over Auckland, most of my childhood out south, Papakura, early teens etc in East Auckland, Panmure etc then settled in Central Auckland in my early teens over 30 years ago.

Born in Gizzy.

Spent early years moving up and down the East Coast. Te Puia Springs, Rangitukia up the coast, Flaxmere, Hastings.

Eventually moved up to Auckland, first Pakuranga then Weymouth (talk about same city, different world!).

Then at start of high school age moved down to the Tron. Besides a couple years in Sydney been here ever since.

Born in Auckland, my Dad was part of the 1951 water front strike. As he couldn't get work he returned to Ngaruawahia with my mum and me. I played rugby League in the winter frosts and bare feet at the Ngaruawahia Rugby league ground.
I represented Waikato in age group remember playing at Carlaw Park playing other hairy arsed schoolboys.
All this is but a blurred memory now. But in those days league was definitely a workingmans sport. League was big in Ngaruawahia and Huntly. The coal miners were hard men.
Now living in Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬 where league is the national sport.
