I just spent 20 minutes on Meta Threads and felt like I was getting radicalised to join the armed resistance groups they're organising. It's a powder keg over there.Fair enough. It's very difficult to identify intent sometimes

The forum thread extensively discusses Donald Trump's legal battles and his 2024 presidential campaign, centering on fraud convictions, election eligibility disputes, and broader political implications. A central focus is the New York fraud case where Trump was fined over $350 million and barred from business roles, as outlined in #358, alongside ongoing debates about his appeal strategies. Eligibility challenges under the 14th Amendment are debated, particularly rulings in Colorado and Maine blocking him from primary ballots due to alleged insurrection ties, emphasized in #260#301. Participants analyze the fairness of these legal actions, with user #393 arguing that Trump faces numerous accusations but lacks criminal convictions, while others cite his civil liabilities. Nikki Haley's primary win in Washington D.C. is noted in #387, highlighting intra-party dynamics. The thread also explores broader concerns, including geopolitical risks under a potential Trump presidency and critiques of Republican policies, referencing abortion access impacts in #385. Throughout, there is polarization over Trump's guilt, political viability, and the implications for democracy.

You are totally correct that both sides are extreme on socials.Social media in general is just an incubator of extremism on both sides.
For me it got old really quick as I never clicked away from a conversation having learnt anything of substance.
I find YouTube easier to find arguments from both sides (excluding the comments section). Less noise.
Even the Wellington Phoenix fan having a whinge about Auckland fans in the Away bay at Mt Smart that I posted highlights how weird social media has made us as a species.
deflection, but also an attempt to amplify & weaponise his social media voice. It's just deflection.
I don't really follow soccer, but it's super impressive what AFC have done in their first season.
I'm a little bit jealous of their fans, if I'm totally honest haha
Can we paddle fast enough to keep up with it?A NZ warship is shadowing the Chinese flotilla.
Bets are being placed on if it will break down (or sink) and have to be rescued by the Chinese!
Sadly this is the disinformation the right have sown. Anti vaxxers are part of it, there's a whole industry around it.
Seeing Vance and Trump double team Zelenski is typical of bullies that have minions chiming in.
Very disturbing to watch what America is now.
