On reflection it seems clear that Trump thought he could get a deal for America (well his mates) to extract minerals from Ukraine which didn’t involve any security guarantees. Zelensky wasn’t having any of it so he was wheeled into a room full of Trump cheerleading press for what was akin to a show trial.

I’m not an especially political individual but it seems to me that democracy in America ends on the day of the inauguration, there is no real opposition to challenge the incumbent. Who in America is challenging Trump and his team of conspiracy theorists and outright bullies

Pretty worrying times. Think the way forward is for like minded countries like yours and ours and countries interested in preserving democracy to grow ties. I worry that the rich look at war as an opportunity to grow their wealth through rebuilding, like Cheney and Halliburton in Iraq

Tbf I think a lot of the European leaders have confirmed they stand by Ukraine. I know ours did last night.
