Some states in Australia put a temporary on dog racing due to the same problem.
Now banned in NSW and NT

I remember watching this years ago.
Four Corners undercover investigation here in Australia.
Absolute demonic people involved in the industry.
Talking about mass graves for unwanted racing dogs, the videos of the live baiting makes you ill.
Obviously not everyone doing it but shows the evil side of the practice.
Good for Winnie and I hope Aussie bans it everywhere as well.

Actually been rumors in the industry of this for years both here and in OZ.
Mainly because of cruelty by a few trainers
Would that not also be the case with horse trainers as well?
Seems strange to single out cruelty to dogs but overlook it with horses if it is happening even on a small scale. I guess it all comes down to the dollar.

Then there’s Manly player Keith Titmuss who in 2020 died in training due to heat stroke and Des Hasler has been under investigation ever since. The Storm and their SAS training. Players walking away from the game because of pushing them to hard. CTE…

Don’t all competitive sports push the physical limits of the body in the pursuit of results?

I guess it’s all relative though (to how much NZ First likes you 😉)

They certainly do.
However, an animal is unable to communicate their stress and suffering as well as a human and they don't get paid for providing us with entertainment and money.

I have never seen cruelty in the horse racing game and I have been around it for a long time.
As mentioned earlier dogs are subjected to live baiting.
Cruel to the dog and the bait of course
Possums cats etc.
All the horses I have seen either end up in a paddock of the owner breeder and well looked after. Or end up with young people interested in equestrian.
Sure to be a few bad outcomes but not what I have heard or seen.
I wonder what is Winnies opinion is about live animal exports. 🤔

So much for the long awaited decision on the ferries. Non event.
Winstone is the new Minister for Rail. Wow
Wasn't he involved with the signing off of the IREX deal.
Still nothing concrete and we Kiwis kick the can even further down the road.
No wonder infrastructure projects keep rising in cost.
"But we have been elected to get things rolling."
What 2029?? Hahaha.
