Saw this and they interviewed Stacy Jones

Kemp thinks it might be time to speak with SJ and stick with the current halves, and after interviewing Stacy he said need to see when SJ took the team to A this year, TMM to B, if SJ can bring us to C or back to A this week

Stacy seems to indicate it’s about integrating SJ into the team when he is 100%, while SJ needs to have a look at his game

Tony Kemp is so full of BS

Yes TMM has been good but to suggest 3 wins means you discard SJ? Dream on. Once teams do their homework on TMM those holes are gonna disappear… TMM makes everyone better but remains to be seen he can maintain that a whole season. SJ carried the team on his back last year. Laughable to suggest he should retire and make way for TMM. Ridiculous suggestion. Absolutely RIDICULOUS

Interesting listening to Webster's press conference - saying he's learned a lot about Te Maire over the past few weeks. Hopefully that is an indication re how they will structure things on SJ's return. He clearly isn't a player that wants to be parked on one side receiving 20% of the ball, he needs ball in hand and he needs a bit of a licence to play both sides.

We are gonna get these bastards.

The stars have all come into alignment for revenge after we should have beaten them earlier this year and set our season up.

Thankfully we get a second bite at the Cherry, a shot at tearing off from here at full tilt into the top four (God/injuries/the yellow shirted whistling Satan willing).

Our lot will be rearing to go.

Nice that it is at home, but in some ways winning at AAMI is always better.

i think people are under cooking Capewells addition.

His hustle is massive, loose balls, scramble defense, he is fucking everywhere. Plus him in the 2nd row allows Ford to go to prop, WHO BRINGS THE SAME ENERGY.

Commentators mentioned it looked like we were playing with an extra man, yeah because the lateral mobility of those two is insane.

To be fair to SJ and Webby - the game plan that was formulated worked really well last year, and as TMM was out for most of the year there wasn't really any opportunity to see what he had. Even this year, the game plan was working well until we hit that 4 week shit show, where everyone was dropping like flies so there really wasn't much of an opportunity to figure out how TMM and SJ can coexist

Now that we've seen what TMM can do and we can see he can do it consistently, I back Webby to solve the puzzle about how to fit both TMM and SJ into the team where they both get good opportunities.

It might not happen in the first game back for them as the Storm are currently coming 2nd, but I really do believe that if they're given 5-7 games to sort out how to manage this, we could have the best halves pairing in the comp.

Big call I know, but TMM had 4 try assists on the weekend and 3 against Penrith. That's fucking ridiculous. To put that in to context Cleary has only ever had 3 try assists in a game 3 times, and 0 times has he ever had 4 in a match. Same for SJ, he's never had 4 in a match (has hit 3 8 times in his career). I know it's hard to compare those stats against each other, I just want to point out that our 3rd or 4th half at the beginning of the year is posting some absolutely ridiculous numbers right now, so we should be looking at how we can incorporate both players strengths into the team instead of picking one or the other

After losing afb I was so worried about our prop stocks but with the signing of jfh, the performances of Barnett, niukore and ford in the middle, the return to form of jazz and Bunty, along with the development of ale and Laban and the promise of zyon and Sifakula I think we’re covered there.
It’s hard to see a real weakness in the squad now- this last month has really highlighted our depth across the field- although it would be a bonus if we could improve the top end.
There’s really nothing of interest on the market at the moment so retention and development looks like the way ford unless another elite player becomes available (homesick..).

Jeeze Ford going to prop would REALLY solve a few of our issues - essentially means we're not a total log jam on the edges and we strengthen a spot we weren't uber strong in.

Ford won't play that well all the time, but if he was able to hit 120m + consistently from prop, have minimal errors and penalties and keep his defence as it is, that's a huge problem that's solved moving forward

Jackson Ford is an absolute monster, if he can sort his errors he will be a cult figure. 100% effort. Michael Luck-esque talking machine.

Both the edges have cleaned up their defence so well, props to Pomptoya and Watene-Berryezniak

I think his handling errors will be mitigated greatly at prop because he is not having to hold on to that crash ball. The lead runner stuff needs some urgent addressing though. He has done it in three separate weeks, and I wonder if it is an attention thing.

It is clearly obvious that prop is the way forward for Jackson. He will be a real asset, and it is nice to be able to put more dynamic players in the second row.

I thought Capewell was lumbering around a bit. He seems to have lost a lot of his athleticism, and his returns with the ball in hand are not flash. Webster said CHT will be on the bench. We know one of Walker/Harris will. Tevaga has to be there for me too. I'd rather someone like Sifakula or Ale got that last spot.

I don’t think we’re buying anyone unless someone retires or gets homesick. They have to trust the pathways. Which position do we not have competent depth in? Pure front rower maybe but Bunty is still here and can do a job. Out and out winger as well, but you really should be able to develop one of those.

To me the big question we've had all season is why does our attack look so one dimensional.

My guess is that it could be SJ related. I'm only basing that off the last three games and so it still remains to be seen.

My counter question to you is; if SJ was out there tonight, would the team have had a field day?

To me, that's the only question that matters.

    Trust me

If SJ was out there - he would have had a field day

The forwards laid the platform for TMM to do magic when that cows back line was scrambling

TMM has earned the respect of the team and Webster. We now know he can lead and play 7.

I trust the coach to come up with plan where both SJ and TMM are equals on the field. Egan gets to pick and chose who gets the ball.

Both will need to play 6&7. Lead and support each other.

It’s exciting times. Let’s enjoy it!
