Bit of a rumour for ya's (Source - friend of a friends friend who is friends with someones friend)

Who was the guy on here that said they saw a big dude with leg tattoos in a bar talking to Mohawk?

So, Apparently Mohawk was with Mark Stewart of Rise Sports Management that night. Who manages several NRL Stars.
Later that weekend Mohawk & Cappy are seen shaking hands with Reagan Campbell Gillard(No leg tatts ) Just a howzit mate? Probably is. Guess who manages Reagan? Mark Stewart of Rise Sports Management

    Would we be keen? Or?

Anyway,, Back to talking about Addin.....

Let's hope it is just a case of him being disappointed in his performance. In a team environment, you are going to have different personalities and people who react in different ways. Some will be a bit temperamental.

However, history does show in this competition when you see things shot down like we are seeing from his manager or from the club. There is something to it. You often see player X is committed to the club. The player asks where the rumours are coming from. Then it ends up happening. We had that with Curran over the off-season.

When they made the compromise to see out the year it was either going to go smoothly or we'd occasionally hear about issues or additional requests to leave and he'd likely get released.

If he needs to be in Sydney we have a bye coming up. A perfect time for him to have some time off. I'd say he either comes back and this is all put to bed. Or he ends up getting released. The wait until the Cowboys team naming could be a long one.
You don’t seriously believe it’s because he was “disappointed” in his own performance do you???… immediately after the game? When he controls his own actions and performances? So he self reflected right after the game- realised what a disappointment he was and thought it was better he didn’t show up to the team celebrations?…. Makes no sense at all..

Think some people need to stop pouring petrol onto the fire and making assumptions. Having read some of the previous posts, blaming his wife, mental health issues. We’ve all had bad days at work and not want to be around work colleagues at a present moment. I know I have. We may never know the real truth in what happened but starting rumours and making assumptions amongst yourselves is a very dangerous game to play.

Hmmm I hear you. He still seems to make decent metres and his tackling around the middle has been pretty important. I’m open minded, especially if we were to sign someone.
I see J’maine Hopgood has turned down the eels offer of an extension. Pretty handy player. Would have been at panthers when Webster was. Interesting reading that apart of JFH’s decision to come to Warriors was partly because of his trust in Webster

The club had the choice of keeping it in-house and blaming injury or outing AFB. The reasons they went public could be:

    - this is the latest in a series of incidents and they have had enough.
    - embarrass him publicly to force him to step up or step out (bring it to a head).
    - highlight him as a trouble maker forcing him to either pull in line to counter that perception or act more petulant and pull public support behind the club if it gets messy.

Whatever happens from here the club has ramped up the stakes.

Thoughts on the AFB stand down - People have questioned why Addin was named when they had all of the information from the weekend already. I just watched Webster‘s press conference this morning and he didn’t mention anything about it either or questioned about it therefore I’d say this is a very deliberate plan to let the boys and the club enjoy the great win last week …… and it allowed for the emotion to die down, While they choose what they’re gonna do with Addin. If they always were gonna stand Addin down, Well it hasn’t dictated all of the league shows. And Webster and Addin haven’t had to answer any questions about it in the press either. The team would’ve known it probably right from the start so it won’t be disruption to them. It’s just great control of the media leading the narrative.

If The Warriors are turning into a great club - then we won’t find out the whole story just as we didn’t with Lodge. Results are the main thing with me - I don’t need to know all the dirty laundry as long as it’s been dealt with appropriately for the betterment of the club.

Furthermore - we are a better team with Addin - as long as he continues to put in like all the other games before the Panthers - I hope there aren’t people wasting their energy with boos around the ground as that won’t benefit our team either! (I know you are all free to choose and act how you like - just my take!)

Damn shame one of our greatest ever against all odds victories will now be remembered for afb having a sook.
Can’t be too critical without knowing the facts but obviously very disappointing from a fans perspective- and just when it looked like we were turning a corner and could make a run home.
Hopefully on reflection he can see how much he’s let the boys down here and comes back with a fire in his belly but tbh I won’t be surprised if his played his last game for the club.

Don't know about you but this game for me was about TMM and Taine - The Tokoroa boys taking it to the 3 x prems.

AFB doesn't spoil that for me.

I don't know, the man has been our best forward by a long way for 3 and half years and was outstanding when we stunk through 21 and 22. He's played through injury and played big minutes when others have been injured. He's had plenty of opportunities to ease up and never did. This year has been tough on the older players, look how beaten up Tohu is currently. All the noise put aside, it wouldn't surprise me if Addin came back refreshed and smashed the Cowboys off the park in a fortnight. Shit he was averaging 189m a game in a losing team before Sunday.

I remember the Cowboys losing to the Warriors here many years ago and my oldest boy happened to get on the drinks with James Tamou in town after the game. James asked my son what he thought of James' performance and my boy told him he played like shit. Jame's response was something like "thanks bro, everyone else is telling me how well I played but I know I was bad and I've been beating myself up about it". It was why he was drinking alone instead of partying with the rest of his team. I think it was the year before the Cowboys won their premiership too. Form is temporary, class is permanent.

Addin could be down on the club or himself or both ffs. He should've handled the post game activities better of course but if he aint feeling it then why fake happiness. Webby's done the right thing, the team standards are maintained and hopefully Addin gets the reset he needs and buys in for the rest of the season . Or I could be wrong and Addin sulks for the rest of the year. I hope not.

AFB seems a complex dude. I think he's pretty clearly packing a shitty, don't know what it is, could be personal and his head isn't in for the team at the moment.

He either will be gone over the bye, or he'll straighten his head out over the next 2 weeks and hopefully he can carry on with the season with us.

I like the clubs move to stand him down, set high standards for others to follow, if I was on that team and a guy was getting away with shit I'd be pissed.

It sums up his character though at the end of the day. Plenty of players have had shit days but you don’t hear about them doing this

It’s Dallin’s 200th and the club ended a losing streak by upsetting the 3x premiers, and he couldn’t gather himself to be with the other colleagues

And I am not aware you can just decide to miss the coach’s address at this club because you had a shit game lol, as an employer myself this guy is just trouble, makes you money yes but very unsettling

    Jeez.
The guy has had one (1) bad game this year.
All his other games have been great.
    As fans
-do we know if he is playing injured?
-what other life issues are playing out?

I myself had to knock over three months by myself ( at a couple of share rental places)while my wife and daughter had moved Akl-Gc. i was pretty flat and down. It didnt affect my work demeanour though.
Addin is different -we all are.

Remember all the great games he has played for us rather than one poor game and a serious error of judgement.

I guess I'd like to know the full story (not that it will probably ever come out) before making a harsh judgement on the guy. Could be family issues noting his parents health scares recently
The thing is though, that Andrew Webster is such a empathetic and level headed guy.

So before we all go around finding loop holes for Addin to get off his responsibilities, I can honestly say I would have killed for a manager like Webster in my career and would have felt very comfortable approaching the guy and asking mate I cannot do the dressing room etc, I need go....I guarantee you Webster would have said take care, do what you have to do....he is just that kind of human and you can see it every time he has been in front of us on telly.

Yes people are different off camera, but we have seen a lot of Webster, and we have seen his nature when he is under serious pressure and is obviously in distress....at those times, people give themselves away a little, Webster has not had a single incident of showing cracks in his personality, of appearing nasty.

Addins is bloody lucky to have worked for him.

Do we even know why he did it? He is not the first nor will he be the last player that will be stood down. Apart from the last game the guy has been playing elite. Hardly the sign of a dropped lip. Would wait until after the bye before we start crucifying the guy.
Why wait....I have all these wooden Crosses with no one else to nail them too?

To be fair to fans, we invest a lot. I know I know that sounds entitled, but we are entitled, we have none of the trappings of NRL privilege, we have no premiership to be grateful for.

We stuck by a club during Covid with no home games.

We came back to Mt Smart despite all the health warnings, all the sanity warnings, all the common sense warnings.

We do actually deserve better from our million dollar players. True story.
