Game-Day Diehard
If TMM wants to stay in NZ, I would be offering TMM a role in player welfare. Dude came back from being told he will never play again. Plus he is a really good dude.

There may well be actually.Guys I love the speculation but there's just no world in which the Warriors sign three halves on starting halves' salary. It's a really poor use of the cap and wastes decent coin that can go to big upgrades in less well paid positions, or to spread to keep our homegrown talent around longer. No clubs do this, unless there's a clear way in which one of the halves can play elsewhere.
So it's two out of the three. I don't really see them jettisoning Metcalf after one year into three (assuming there are offers he'd accept elsewhere) so with the other renewals needed this season (and they'll both want multiyear deal security given their form) it's one of Tanah or CHT.
What the best sides do is bridge this by having a young guy with upside on a multi-year deal, or a cheaper half who wants a year in a good system before having a crack at starting again elsewhere on better coin (like Scheider, SOS, Cogger at Penrith over the years; Madden at Brisbane; arguably even Boyd signing for us). Ultimately I think the Linnane signing was intended to secure us in advance against this instance we knew we were facing, with Jett, Hanson and Thompson also in the mix down the track. Maybe there will be an unders halves signing if Linnane doesn't quite make the grade (we were pretty quick at moving on the likes of Keighran/Volkman/Asi once we had a look at them and deemed them not up to first grade).
Any chat about keeping all of CHT/Met/Boyd is basically nice thinking but won't actually happen in a world where the comp has a salary cap
Also how pleasing to see a Wellington crowd want to stay till the very end, nothing like seeing a packed stadium from the aerials while the players are shaking hands, brilliant, well done Wellywood.
Also thank fook the Warriors shook off the NZ away ground curse/particularly their long history of letting Wellingtonians down.

Boyd was having to take the line on a lot in this game with the Dolphins defense rushing up to shut the play from getting to our edges. Have to give credit to them, they pushed us hard in this game.Run meters

Ford will get 6 dally m with 57 tackles 206m
Funny Boyd ran over 100m, he and Leka are not combining well on that side 67m. Ali only 50m?
Barney 116m in 30min
The atmosphere at the game was electric, crowd was incredible to be part of i thought. What a boring game. Crowd barely made any noise. Wouldn't have known it was a sold out game. Team did there best to in the last 10 mins to lose the game with poor discipline.
On the positive our defence was much better in the 2nd half. First time the Dolphins have been kept scoreless in the 2nd half this season. We played poorly and still found a way to win. A good trait to have.
The big wins have been nice to see.
These wins when you aren't at your best are when you need to find a way to win.
The Dolphins came to play and didn't go away.
We came back from a deficiet and got the win.
Two competition points collected.
When you are below your best and find a way to win it's the sign of a good team.We played nowhere near our best and got the win. Dolphins turned up to play and forced our play a lot. Previous Warriors teams fold in this game. Not always going to have that clinical performance. Effort was there. Discipline and execution not so much.
Good test, good result.
