Where does everyone rate Stephen Crichton for all time centres?

He has a Meninga quality about him and clearly the best current centre (4 dally M centres) and still only 25!

Select centres in this game:

Crichton - 4 x dally M centres
Lyon - 4
Vagana - 2
Fittler - 2
Manu - 1
L. Mitchell - 1
Inglis - 0
Tate - 0

Future hall of fame player I reckon!
Ahh now you spell his name correctly!!

Inglis is comfortably the best out of that list. He would have won a Daly M no matter what position he played in the backline.

I think Morris is a little overrated. Inglis is 1, Morris is 5. 2/3/4 is a matter of opinion. Chrichton will most likely be 2 after a few more years (possibly even now). I think Mclean will move quickly up that list over the coming years as well.

That list is not the true top 5 though. Hodges, Manu, Latrell are better than Morris and probably Gasnier and Lyon as well.

Morris i find overrated. But what longetivity. I would put inglis top as well. Jamie Lyon was a gun.

Talkimg of good centres, why was Gidley not in the legends list?
He was but we cut him I am pretty sure. we had 80 legends and people said take ten out so we cut some big names 69 that we had turned out to be the right amount I think based on the way the game went.

I’ve put Kurt Capewell as my 14 as with cam Smith playing 80 I don’t need hooker cover.

Capewell has played 15+ games at each of fullback, centre and wing, as well of in the forwards. A surprisingly versatile player and I appreciate why Webster used him as a centre cover.

Younger years he would have covered many positions so is my perfect 14

Hey Wrighty, why don’t we just scrap voting and use the superior intellect of AI to have matchup games between teams.

As an example I’ve put mine head to head with brownstone and here were the results:

🧠 Key Matchups

  • Smith vs Cook → big edge Wizards
  • Thurston vs Cronk → slight Wizards (creativity + clutch)
  • Lockyer vs Mam → Brownstones
  • Pack → Brownstones on athleticism, Wizards on composure
  • Fullback → Brownstones (Teddy > Hunt)

🏆 Verdict

In a one-off, finals-style match:
👉 Wizards win 24–20

Why?
Because Cameron Smith + Jonathan Thurston together is essentially cheating. They slow the game, win the ruck, nail goals, and ice moments. Brownstones might score the better tries — but the Wizards win the important moments.

Over a season: Brownstones finish higher
In a grand final: Wizards every time

(Actually don’t change the voting system, Im just playing minds games to strike a phycological blow to Brownstowns players before the finals series begins 😈)

Faark 1.24mil for the “immortal”Jesse Bromwich fuck inflation is real🤣🤣 well at least he does good… I mean runs good lines 😉

I left 10k in the bank for you @Wrighty to give my squad the blocker roach analysis. So I’m counting on you to convince the voters that my forward pack is “massive”

****WRIGHTY's CONSULTANT REPORT****

Firstly the two suggestions I have I am only 60% sure of. They are questions for you to think about and mull over rather than firm recommendations. Please apply your mind to them and you decide if you agree or not.

1) Craig Fitzgibbon is presently your prop and he did play there 3 times at SOO level. Yet the vast majority of his playing career was at second row (200 times) or Lock (94 times). Does it make sense to put Lindsay Collins back to prop, Fitzgibbon to Lock and Radley sub off the bench? i get the feeling you have been wrestling with the formation of your pack so maybe give it some thought? I think Radley was elite in his prime but hasn't been this year and his recent form more suits him to a bench role.

2) Kalyn Ponga and what to do with him? I think you will lose points by having him on your bench. You already have Dearden on your bench, and two backs is unbalanced,. Furthermore, Kalyn is so good that people may be concerned he is on the bench and mark you down. However there is no where for him to go in the spine as you are set there.
My suggestion is to play him at wing ahead of Jason Saab. Kalyn has played three NRL games at wing and he is a full back so should be able to handle playing wing. Put Jason Saab out of your 17 and move Paseka to your bench. I like the idea of Dearden at 14 on your bench and then the three forwards: 14 Dearden 15 RCG 16 Radley 17 Paskeka sounds like a more forward dominant and powerful bench that our man Blocker Roach would approve of.
Alternatively if you want to keep Ponga on the bench then I think Dearden goes to 18th man and Paseka comes on to the bench to give you that three forward rotation off the bench. In which case put Ponga in the 14 jersey.

Thoughts?

Voting thread has been created.
Take your time today to decide your final team before posting.
The instructions are in the voting thread.

You should hope that your team is creating/scoring just one pass off the ruck every play as, as the second pass just goes to a fill in moneyball player.
Hey every player has earned a Daly M in their position except 3. These guys are awesome!

Moneyball is just relative to the difference between mere legends of the game and our future immortals.

This is an elite team 🔥🔥🔥

Fair enough if you think that.

1 - Karmichael Hunt $200k (kept Slater on the wing in origin)
Is that the same guy that lost the FB position to Motu Tony and Bennett considered bringing back Lockyer to FB after transitioning him to 5/8?

Mate, he wasn’t even 20 then.

Are you gutted Leka hasn’t won a grand final yet as well 😉
Im just curious as i evaluate who to give my points to hence the questions. Are they too difficult to answer properly? :)

Some more for you:
1) Since we are evaluating players in their prime years (or to date), do you feel Leka has earnt the right to be part of 8 or so squads of the best players in the NRL era? Or are you basing his selection in your team based on his likely projectory.
2) What are the team dynamics like with JT, Ezra and Leniu in the team? How many times has Ezra hid behind JT in training drills when Leniu was the tackler?
3) Ezra is primarily a running half. Are all the playmaking responsibility on JT/Cam Smith?
4) Can you justify Daniel Saifiti's inclusion in the squad, let alone as the starting prop? Do you agree that your forwards are your weakness?

@Warriors55

Some questions if i may.

1) Which season would you consider Anthony Minichello's best season at wing? Would you classify that season worthy of him being named as one of the best wingers in the NRL era?
2) How do you rate Carney's goal kicking. He was very much a part time goal kicker (@Defence). Do you consider his goal kicking a potential weakness in your team - something that has been relayed to other team owners, but somehow did not get extended to you?
3) I like your bench. No commentary required.

Hello Chris!

1) He played the 2002 season on the wing when the Roosters won the Premiership. He started on the wing before moving to full back (a bit like RTS). I decided Brett and Mini need to be in my team and that meant Johnston and Mark N missed out. I needed Mulitalo physical presence and metres coming out of trouble.
2) I rate his kicking highly especially after he nailed that clutch sideline conversation for NSW (cant remember which year that was but can remember Ray Warren saying this is a career kick for Carney. And he nailed it) He averaged 78% over his career which is the same as Jonathan Thurston and better than Cameron Smith. I don't see how that is a potential weakness?
3) thank you
