Allan Langer
Pros
Did play for Australia in 1999
Played for Queensland until 2002
Langer captained the Broncos to a second consecutive premiership when they won the 1998 NRL grand final.

Cons
He won his clive churchill in 1992

Of course open to a debate. It will give us something to discuss now that the season is over and we are sweating on whether NAS will be signed or not.
Anything that drags me away from the political thread, I don’t even know why I post there, don’t really give a shit about any of that stuff, wiz gets bullied by meanies (joke) & no one changes their opinions ever 😝

Pros, he came back from England to lead Queensland to a series victory in the 2001 decider. One of the all time great origin performances!
Sold. Let's go through all the big names tonight if you are up for it an you can get my vote or veto and then tajhay will need to approve. Or he could join in if he wanted to. Whatever suits him.

Glenn Lazarus, played for NSW & Australia until his final season in 1999 in which he also led the Storm to premiership glory - most impressively perfectly executing a cartwheel after the final siren.

Melbourne

Lazarus was recruited to the newly established Melbourne Storm by his former CEO (John Ribot) and teammate (Chris Johns) from the Broncos, both then responsible for setting up and managing the growth of new club in Melbourne. Lazarus commenced with the club in its inaugural year, 1998 and was named as the club's first captain and also given a newspaper column to write in The Herald Sun.[8] He went on to lead the Melbourne Storm at prop forward in their 1999 grand final victory. Lazarus announced his retirement from the game with five premierships for three clubs (Canberra 1989–90, Brisbane 1992–93 and Melbourne 1999).

Well I guess if we are using when did you stop playing rep footy as a telling indicator then he is in as he played for NSW and test matches until 1999. Have to say yes to that too. Who else do you have?

I’m a no on langer- played his first origin game in 87.
Lazarus too he’s a 80s/90s player.
Just feel like we’ve done that era- would be cool to focus on this century for a bit of a change up.
Just my opinion.
OK

How well was langer playing in 1998 and 1999 and 2001 and 2002?
How well did Lazarus play for the storm?

I am happy to leave both players out as I am not sure including them is in the spirit of the era we are going for - however can you provide any more details?

There are some post 2000 (who debuted after 1998) who are missing from that list? Are there any you want to nominate Mr B?

Nothing scientific- I just feel they’re from another era.
