Social Wrighty presents Forum Sheep game for 2024 - Round Four Underway

Will still be a lot to bid for. I was contemplating making the criteria tighter but I need a chance to win some players!

For the silent rounds I feel like having quite a few options works as it's harder to outbid everyone and you almost have to be more selective with who you go for. The open rounds should be a tighter selection of players or it's going to be chaos prior to closing and everyone will probably get timed out with posting and having to wait 15 seconds before posting again.
I don't agree with this logic. Barring Wizards, everyone got one or two players yesterday and on average that is all you need over the duration of the competition. You got three players. I think the auctions are working well and I don't want to make them easier by giving more choices/selection or it takes away the battles and competition.

Inruin based on this feedback can you please provide a count or estimate on the number of eligible players. We discussed this before the comp started that there shouldn't be too many eligible players. Remember that some contestants have a different strategy which is waiting until after round ten when others have blown their war chest and we can't be unfair to those people counting on the full number of rounds.

You may wish to put a time range on this?
Well over half of the remaining elite players are eligible

OK I am making a ruling. Inruin Inruin please tighten the question considerably or make a new question.
CCes I am rejecting your bids based on this.
Ok, I think that's a bit tough just because there are some iconic teams like Raiders, Broncos, Storm in this round. There are still a massive amount of players not available. I'll think of another question

Just tighten the time line up a bit like wrighty suggested (maybe by decade?)

Is the concern the number of players or the number of 'elite' players or both?

Both - Officially though focus on the number of "eligible test players" there is a minimum of 17. There should not be more than 40ish at most?
Even 40 is really upper level in my opinion. Perhaps others disagree however I also think it’s a bit more fun when there’s only up to a handful of elite available players eligible each round as well. I’d define elite as say around the top 50 players over the last 4 decades.

Over the first two rounds (and I will count the third round shortly) 49 players or 24.5 average per round players were drafted. That suggests offering a choice up to about 35 or 40 seems to be working using my intuition for guessing what the population must have been.

Let's run with that. Well done Inruin Inruin
Please note all it is an open auction and not silent.

Inruin Inruin for playing along, as per previous games, where someone was helpful, I am awarding you a "Green Plus" which means if you get infracted later it comes off your plus rather than one of your three infractions. Sounds a bit quaint but just a token I have used before and I think applies here.
