Team List Wests Tigers v NZ Warriors - [Round 4, 2026]

You guys are freaking me out, whenever this forum is this confident we lose...

there is something different in the water.

When I look at our roster, our game plan, our returning players.

And then I look at some of the god awful teams there are this year (Manly are 11th at 0-2!) you can't help but think we will be short priced most games at Mt Smart.

Can the Tigers realistially come here without both their halves and do better than Canberra or Roosters?

Metcalf's return must have been the best kept secret at the club..

What happened to all our moles, spies and guys who know someone and someone in this forum?

surely someone saw him running around in preseason and during training to know he's not far off from returning??????..

Very early on, reports were that Metcalf was targeting an early return.

I still think he doesn't play. Webby has successfully shut down all the noise about what the plan will be. Doesn't mean Luke will play

Luke and Tannah in the halves... whos gonna run the team? ... man I hope egos dont get in the way... could be great or a disaster... guess we’ll see..
Webster will have a plan to do x at y position on the field on tackle z.

Egan will decide where we go and what we do and the players play a role.

Boyd will get something like 60% to Metcalfs 40% with Boyd owning the structured and Metcalf shining more in the broken field play.

I don’t see any issues really if we get forward dominance. As an example, I think the Roosters halves issues are a media beat up due to a poor game plan and back foot ball.

They'll be sweet. Doubt Webbys game plan changes much at all so Luke will naturally have to take a back seat as there's a built in hierarchy.

Boyd will play middle service and dictate which side we go based on defensive cues and he'll dominate the kicking.

Metcalf will sweep behind an edge lead on the left if we're playing off the 50 or a long shift, the ball still has to go through Boyd before he gets it.

He'll only really play first receiver on wide 4s and 3v3s. He'll rarely, if ever cross the 50 in good ball, and even then mostly in support.

at least for this week, I'm sure the plan is for TB to take control as a way for Mets to ease into his first game back. Let Tannah take care of the kicking (both general and goal kicking) and Mets can focus on looking for opportunities to run.

Something I feel we are missing is fast support play. When TB made that break down the sideline, it was a bit worrying that it was JFH who was the main support back through the middle. Luckily his strength and power got him to the line, But it would have been an easier thing if it was Mets backing up on the inside. TT and Wayde made many breaks through the middle in the first half last week but there was no support back on the inside. Mets coming back hopefully changes that dynamic.
Watch Ali's movement in that line break, everyone running in support (Dallin wider) while Ali just slow jogs but was right next to Tannah to start with. He drives me mad with his lack of effort

JFH was supporting cause he just got back on the field. Usually Luke Hanson and Tuaupiki are pretty good at backing up in support plays but I think it caught everyone off guard as Boyd was shaping to kick but due to pressure was forced to run instead.
