Team List Wests Tigers v NZ Warriors - [Round 4, 2026]

I don't see how there is any possibility TT can be left out of the 19.

He has shown already this year the value of his versatility on the bench, not to mention his performance when starting.

I'm expecting a late change, can't see why Webby would change that plan when he has already spoken about how they have put extensive planning into how best to use the 6-man bench.

My gut says it's a saving face exercise and that one of Healey or CHT is not going to be there game day

I may be way overthinking it but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Lukey met drop back to the bench. I wonder if the naming of the 6 and 7 was around signalling to Tannah that he has currently won the jersey - that might be important if other clubs are sniffing around
Agreed, I back CHT with a full preseason under his belt to perform better than Metcalf in the week that he's medically cleared to play.

Metcalf to get 30 minutes off the bench.

This team is so fucking STACKED ❤️

Great side.

I would have kept TT at 1 but don't think it'll be the difference between a win and loss.

In theory Boyd at 7 and Metcalf at 6 makes sense. Boyd is a natural 7, Metcalf looks more like a 6 that was asked to play 7 due to lack of other options - and he did it well. However his primary strength is his running game and at 6 he should get more time and space to exploit his strength. They will take time to gel no doubt, but if they can find a balance and Boyd can keep playing at his current level then sky is the limit.

Unlucky on CHT but we have to play our best players and he is currently #3 in the halves pecking order.

Whatever the final make up of the bench is - one of the huge positives this year that we need to continue is that Egan has been averaging 65mins per game - in the early rounds last year he was playing 80 every week. I think the cumulative effect on his body of back to back to back 80 mins really hurt him.

60 minutes should be his limit for his age and injury history!

i'd say Healey

He'll start. If Hansen can do a decent job then Metcalf is good enough. Especially against a depleted Tigers. Webby names guys on the bench and then starts them sometimes, I don't think I've ever seen him do the reverse. Not to mention how all in they went on social media about Luke's return.

Geeze I hope Webby makes the right call, supposedly a shit load of rain coming, hate to see Luke tweak summit on the wet field. Boyd should be able to kick us out of trouble.
People with medical degrees make the call whether or not a player can play.

The coach makes the call on whether to select them.

Dunno why people think the Warriors medicos with their long and intimate knowledge of Luke Metcalf's leg would rush to break something they have carefully rebuilt for the umpteenth time.

For sure, plus I wouldn't really wanna run him out against the Storm or whatever as his first game back.

Obviously every game is tough, but some a tougher than others.

Was it the Knights game Taine got a pretty hefty slam into the ground which he got up a bit slowly from? He certainly didn't do anything wrong otherwise (beyond being a bit short for the Fletcher try!) so maybe they are giving him a bit of extra rest unless something happens to another player pre-game?

I'm OK with doing some rotation throughout the year to allow for a bit more recovery time for knocks n niggles (wonder if Jackson will get a bit of that!)

Ya like MLB pitchers I think Taine's body is suited for 2-3 games then rest for a week
