Our kick and chase game plan is not the problem. It's effective.

Our issues defensively are absolutely killing us. Pin them for a big defensive set, capped off with a Laban special on Mo - only for DWZ to be beaten for a 70m try.

25 missed tackles in the first half. 79 points leaked in the last 3 games. Can't do shit in this comp with efforts like that.

I'm surprisingly calm about all of this.

I'm not quite ready to put a line through them, long way to go in what is shaping up to be a tight comp. Top 4 we can forget about for a while but pushing up into 6th / 5th is still a real chance.

I'm feeling this way based on the Zyon performance, he lifted us and it is what we have been missing with Niukore's injury.

Zyon ran like how the Dragons ran at us last week, like how Tof ran at us 2 weeks ago.

Certainly it is time for some personnel change out wide, absolutely no reason not to bring Ali in for a game now, Pompey too.

Clearly we are missing Niukore and Afoa. While it is obvious that Niukore is our sole enforcer Afoa’s defence is extremely effective. Our replacement middles are just too far off the pace. I don’t know what has been said to Ford but his confidence is shot. I would drop Montoya and put RTS on the wing as he plays more like a winger and Pompey is a much better passer than RTS. It is amazing how quickly things can turn and our depth which 3 or 4 weeks ago was a strength is now close to being a disaster. Team morale will be at a low but if we can beat a depleted Newcastle and pull off an upset win in either of the subsequent two games we are right back in the mix. It will be interesting to see how the coach responds as it is the first time he has had some real pressure to deal with.

3 games in 12 days is a heluva' effort from the boys. The Aussie's wouldn't have a clue as to how tough we've had it over the past week as they don't lose 2 days to solely travel while on the road. To make it even worse, 3 away games in a row and the NRL give us the home game in magic round. They can fuck right off!

A much needed long weekend off for the boys to recover and spend with their families. The season is far from being out of our hands but the boys need to hit the ground running hard on Monday and "wake the fuck up" IYKYK....

I also hope all the Bandwagoners fall off. There's nothing that pisses me off more than those lifelong warriors haters who attend the games and have to share their narky comments mentioning the warriors of old. Tell me to grow a pair, but what's the point in even showing up!

Sorry to sound like a broken record.

Again if you analyse where those points are coming from… outside backs…. we solve a lot of the problems if DWZ knew how to tackle and CNK saved his energy more for defending the line. Montoya is a bit of a strange one for me - total rocks and diamonds at times..

I get the strategy of rushing in quick to kill the space. Heck even RTS was doing it on the wing.

But surely you have to assess and make a judgement call. Invite the ball carrier to the line and then back yourself to get him. Have a go and don’t die wondering. DWZ has zero confidence in himself and it’s so glaringly obvious. CNK is the backup if DWZ misses his man.
I loathe to say Webby was right but when he said they are losing the rucks as in we get slowed down which screws our attack. Then they get speedier play the ball so it ignites theirs. Against every and any team such dominance is paramount to setting your attacking platform. Our defence starts from dominating the tackles, so when we don't our edges and wings HAVE to compress to compensate.

As an example. When I watch Berry miss his defensive assignment it has been (sometimes) due to the middles losing the tackle and his inside blokes (SJ and Capewell) compressing in to compensate. By then every backline has a numerical advantage and Berry or DWZ have to choose which of the 2 or 3 runners they tackle

Sorry dude. Normally i'll be the first one to stick up for wingers and outsides having to deal with multiple runners on overlaps. But that Tits first try came purely from Dallin jamming in on the centre when Rocco well n truly had him covered. There was no overlap until he jammed in, unfortunately leaving clear space to one of the quickest wingers in the game.

Rocco's missed tackle on Kelly that led to their second try was a pure one on one miss, then to compound things SJ had actually got across on to Kelly but Dallin once again shuts too early leaving Khan Pereira a free run to the line. Rocco did the same thing last week as well with a straight 1 on 1 miss when Moses Suli scored......and clearly Dallin's poor reads are costing us bigtime.

Never mind the attack, defence has been woefully inept the last 2 weeks. Ben Hunts try last week where both Te Maire and Egan drop of the tackle was piss poor,

The territory game which everyone now hates after 2 losses is the way to go, it works for us. It however doesnt work if we're continuously giving away piggyback penalties letting teams out of their half, and then compounding that with bad defensive lapses througn too many 1 on 1 misses or bad misreads.

Poor discpline and defence.......those are the work ons for us.
