NZWarriors.com

That was indeed the old forum which was administered by the warriors and vodafone. They closed after a year or two, and users from there joined us. Most had a prefix in their username like MTB or something. Pretty sure there would still be users here who used to frequent that. Da mad māori was the mod from memory. Most of the prominent users there moved over to LU.

Similar name but these are different forums:

Vodafone One Tribe (12,486 registered members in 2010)
An example of the forum from 2008:

NZ Warriors Tribe (222 registered members in 2010)
An example of the forum from 2008:

Looks like the Vodafone One Tribe changed to the Vodafone Warriors Fan Forum in 2011 with 627 registered members on the last capture at the end of that year:

The NZ Warriors Tribe might have gained some momentum at that point, their new forum style didn't capture the registered users for some reason.

oh yeah you are right. VOT was the official one. NZWT was created by dmd and ozbash and was more of a inner clique of users. Pretty sure da mad māori used to call himself 'the ambassador' on VOT.

II was thinking, is it true that currently our back 3 of DWS CNK and RTS all being fullbacks preferentially that only CNK hasn't played Fullback for the Kiwis whilst the other 2 have...

Faaark me taking me back.

Ambo was a crazy old fool.

There was a weird inner chat site within the forum. Told everyone to be in the chat 5pm Tuesday for some big news.

Everyone gets in "have heard we are signing Frank Pritchard"

Old bastard loved to be the centre of attention

Some people may remember Jaz Jones from the old VOT site.... sadly, she passed away at quite a young age a few weeks ago.

Behind a paywall but despite Warriors brand doing so well, combined with the sellouts, the club is near the bottom when it comes to commercial revenue.

Besides Corporate Hospitality(7th) we languish near the bottom in all other commercial facets. How is that even possible?

Even the Dragons(!!!) do better than us and their game-day revenue for example is 3.8m.

If average game attendance is 24000 and say there are 8000 members then game day revenue would be based on 16000@ average price.

Difficult to do calculation without knowing all three figures
Correct. Just very basic calcs.

There would be value add sales and I only included go media. There’s other ‘home’ games as well.

Just feels wrong to me when we have one of the biggest crowd numbers but down the bottom from crowd revenue???

Same as any list that these sites put out, they are educated guesses.
There could be something as simple as differences in the way NZ vs NSW vs Queensland numbers are reported.

Not forgetting you need something like 8000 tickets to break even every game once you factor in all the grounds fees, game day staff, security, St Johns medics etc.

What we lack that other clubs have is a real hospitality arm that features pokies and an old boys network that isnt shy about spending a lot of money just to prop up the club ie Uncle Nick at the Roosters or the Thoroughbred Club at the Broncos. Same goes for big money corporates buying boxes and seats in the lounge. Sponsors are the other massive money maker. Bet KIA pay the Broncos more than One NZ pays the Warriors.

That being said I think the club is in great stead and theres little chance of another Tainui episode happening or poor investment like Eric Watson. The club look to be in great health and seem to be spending more on the junior programs than ever before...

Interesting tact, is it better to have lower ticket prices and a full stadium or higher revenue and a lower attendance?
Been to pretty much every NRL teams home ground bar a couple of the Queensland ones and the game day experience in Auckland is right up there

Far better to have more people and create an atmosphere for players and fans.
From a brand equity perspective having a full stadium is paramount , there is nothing worse than watching games at Homebush in front of 16000 ( Souths vs Warriors this year) people as stadium looks terrible.
Let’s not forget that Rugby League is still a working class game so important to look after the fans .

Ground revenue is relatively insignificant - keeping the stadium full and fans happy pays for itself just through better tv rights and overall popularity.

A pet hate I have is sports clubs doubling up on "Occasions".

An ANZAC game is a big occasion that draws numbers to Mt Smart

A game in Wellington is an occasion whether it's in round 4 or 17.

I'm probably a bit one-eyed on this because ANZAC is a weekend where my family gets together in Auckland and this game is a big one on our calendar. After 15(?) or so years of it being in Melbourne, it's a bit shit that Auckland got one and it's done. Maybe alternate between Auckland one year and Welly/Chch the next.

I'm kind of surprised they aren't keeping it in ChCh when Te Kaha is set to open in April next year. While I would selfishly want it in Akl, if you hosted it in ChCh this year, wouldn't you want the One New Zealand Warriors as one of the opening events of One New Zealand Stadium?

Have to imagine that with the planning an ANZAC day game would need, they can't run the risk of a delay pushing the opening back a few weeks? that or they want their precious Crusaders to open it :poop:
