You can use archive.org to look through old websites. I had a quick look and this was indeed a forum.
Maybe an alternate to the main one at the time, but I recognise a couple of names on the captured pages.

That was indeed the old forum which was administered by the warriors and vodafone. They closed after a year or two, and users from there joined us. Most had a prefix in their username like MTB or something. Pretty sure there would still be users here who used to frequent that. Da mad māori was the mod from memory.
