General Warriors Preseason 2026

As the preseason content has been pretty sparse, it looks like we have a why

Sad to see one of the main driving forces behind the "up the wahs" movment, or the earls collection hertiage jersey, headding off to the knights. In my opinion he is a major reason why the rugby league resurgence after covid has stuck around. Here's hoping the knights pouched him rather than us trimming the media department. But his contributions to the warriors culture will be missed.

The last two pictures indicate that might have been a bit of a cringe moment with Luxon

He really did do a superb job - managed to bottle on the cool cultural capital of what makes the club so compelling.

I think his wife is Australia so probably a getting poached and wife scenario. I could be talking rubbish though.

Seems to be a bit of confusion around the β€˜6 man bench’.
Even though 6 are named we can only use 4 of those 6. What this basically allows us to do is plan for the worst case scenario reducing the impact on our optimal bench.
What I think we will see is 3 forwards and a hooker (Healy) on the β€œoptimal” bench with a halves (TMM)and outside back cover(Tuaupiki).
In this scenario any of the backs go down in the first half you have an option up your sleeve without having to shuffle someone like Capewell or Leka into centre, No injuries into the second half you can unleash 3rd forward/Hooker sub. Or alternatively save a bench spot til late and blood a youngster if things are going well or the games gone

6 man bench will help Webby a lot I think. His bench usage has been a huge weak point his entire stint, and doesn't really seem to have improved. He often sets a scared and undersized bench. At least this way he can put a back on the bench without making us even smaller than usual.

That is a shame. Already have two players making their way back from ACL injuries.

I can't recall the text that caused the speculation about Tuaupiki. But could the post have been related back to finding out about the injury.

Let's hope they both recover well and see out the season.
