We use to have this thread but thought I would revive it after coming across a bit of it on Instagram. Fans may remember the hypoxic chamber Owen Glenn had installed at the club at the request of Matt Elliott. Elliott also brought the robot arm looking had coolers as it was meant to be a way of cooling down the body quicker (100 points to anyone who can find a pic of it).

Then there was that nutritionist who upset a lot of the players with her stringent diet that players said left them lethargic. I remember there being an anti gravity treadmill at one stage lol. At one stage even kava was used as a recovery agent...

As someone who likes to exercise and is interested in fitness, nutrition. The trends in the industry around sports science I find interesting.

Those gadgets we had under Elliott were pretty out there. It would have been a fair cost and a pain to transport them across to Australia. It was funny seeing the players used them on the side lines.

I knew someone who was offered the Warriors old gym equipment before they refreshed it. He refused, as it was so old/terrible. The gym refresh was quite a while now it will be interesting to see if further investment is made. Some of it might just be refreshing the cardio equipment.

Those racks with the Hammer Strength platforms so players can train within their own space are cool.

When Watson and Glenn had that infamous press conference for investing in the company which led to the gym being upgraded. They mentioned technology.

In the IT area I specialise in we'd often get articles or videos on how some of our vendors equipment is used by sports teams. So I've often been interested when seeing the coaches in the box with their laptop wandering what they are linking to. Is it a video feed, stats?

Im guessing live stats and GPS worm reads...

Thanks. I forgot about the GPS tracking.

I assume the NRL clubs all sign up for the same or similar stats services.

The equipment we sell which would have articles on how teams would use them were always a specific American team, not the sports league. Obviously, things work differently over there and budgets are a lot higher.

Back then if we sold something to the Warriors or another club I'd only be involved in supporting it. Now would be a lot better as I'd potentially be the person installing it.

I'd imagine that GPS tracking data would be top secret. Imagine the information you could farm from it....
