It’s something the club have to look into as both Koopu and Manu have been employed by the club since retiring it’s seem to be an issue the club needs to fix

I don't believe the club bear any responsibility in this instance at all.

Yes there is such a thing as risk for young men that suddenly gain fame and fortune at a very young age and are exposed to temptations that they may well be ill equipped to deal with.

But this bloke is someone that is a life time since being a Warrior, a full grown ass man.

Presumably he has had a very good life in terms of opportunities and privilege.

You cannot make employers responsible for the futures of their ex employees after ten years and more.

I don't even think it is a bad look for the Warriors or the sport, these are men making bad decisions on their own time. Happens to every company - ex workers go off and screw up in one fashion or another.

You think the club have any cross to bear over a wannabe El Chapo gangster who would have earnt over 2 million dollars in his time at the club and another player who left the club 17 years ago and used his profile gained at the Warriors to forge a decent media career?

No offence but that's some weak ass logic. Your talking about grown men who knew plenty well the consequences of their actions. Don't go making excuses for them...

#64 Wairangi Koopu

Unless you have been living under a rock you will know that Wairangi is currently being charged with Class A drug possession and supply and is awaiting his court case where he has entered no plea.

Speaking to industry insiders about this I can tell you he has been basically blacklisted from doing media and its doubtful he will ever be allowed back unless he is cleared of his charges. He posted around Christmas looking for work on his Instagram though it may have been a joke.

No doubt we will hear more as his case is heard...
