It will be an interesting talking point. You obviously wouldn’t need to rush him straight back into FG if that’s the case. Give him a couple of games in cup first. If we win 5 in a row and Boyd dominates like he did last night, does Metcalf even come back into the team?
It wasn't typical Webby footy. We added a huge amount of late passes and offloads. After a bit of time to digest i just think we played our typical style of Webby ball game, nothing flash (odd to say after scoring 40 points) just hard mahi in the middle, dominate possession n territory, to give us enough chances down their end,,,,which we were good enough to convert.
The Chooks discipline was appalling really......and played right into our hands. They just looked too impatient and didnt seem to want to get into the grind with us. I mean they have threats all over the park and did look like they could bust open at anytime....their constant errors and lack of discipline (31 negative play moments to our 9) meant they never gave themselves any chance.
Said before the game controlling the ruck will be key, and our middle 3rd did it far better. Fish, Ford (my MOTM) and Erin Clarke 500 metres between them, there's barely 300 (and most of that attributed to Naufahu Whyte).
Few other takeaways.....Dallins obviously been working on D, few times there when they spread was noticeable he was sliding out, wasnt tempted to jam in early. Meanwhile his centre partner Ali? Damn boy......your a 6 foot 4 monster stop being tentative.....drop a shoulder and fold someone.....enough with the arm grabs. He's just made every other teams tip list of where to attack. Happy for Tannah, controlled things well enough....missing a kick in front gives me a bit of yips tho. Egan classy, Rog, Charmze and Dal....made for Webby ball.
Great win really.....any win till Barney and Lukey back is a bonus in my books
And also keeping ball alive. In prior seasons we would hold the ball rather than going for speculative passes, but they just seem to stick and players were around. Only round 1, but quite a few positives to take from that match. We added the offload in the offseason. Didn't overplay it, and I think it's a much needed addition.

Yes Ali just needs confidence to commit to the tackle.Hopefully that comes with game time. And also keeping ball alive. I do echo Webster's sentiments post match that i think the scoreline did flatter us at the end, and despite us having strongholds at certain points, we let them back in very easily. Roosters are a good attacking team so its not an easy feat to contain their threats, but we really need to work on some areas, especially's Ali's (lack of) defence. Noone questions his attack, but his defence is a worry, especially after his trial performance where you would think that would have been his primary objective to show how much he has improved in that area since last year. First grade start on the back of that showing, and then the same dished out last night indicates that he is still not ready. We are all in his corner and would love to see him succeed as we desperately need a centre with his attack, but his defence is such a worry, and surprised he didnt get targetted more.
But to be honest id rather talk about that Pompey step! Such an unsung hero! Chanel, im really warming upto. Maybe he isnt just a "fill in". Capewell turning back the clock and his line running. Ford was just excellent. Best game for Tanah in the jersey. He was awesome. Lots to like, lots of improvement still to be had also.
This game will be a great confidence boost to the team. We can score points!
they just can't admit that we outplayed them yesterday. Chooks fans have this weird sense of entitlement that they have a right to the premiership this year and that everyone else will just roll over and accommodate that. So they would rather believe the game was stolen from them than accept that the uncomfortable truth that they are way off the pace. They were forced to cheat so heavily in the ruck and cop all those penalties because of our dominance through the middle and consequently their inability to slow down the pace of our ptbs.On the Roosters complaining to the ref. A lot of the Aussie sides debate every try like it is "how dare they score against us, something must have been wrong".
Some of the calls during in play. Let's hope it is more a reflection of us playing well and suffocating them. Creating frustration.
Some of their issues are their own undoing. Like kicking the ball early in the tackle count while inside our 20. The first I can understand if they didn't hear the six-again. It happened again soon afterwards. They were getting repeat sets from set restarts or when Healey got the loose ball and then lost it. They had the possession to close the gap.
His experience will be key if so.he is my next worry for compassionate grounds release. Dragons in particular will probably try to bring him back given their issues in the middle.
If we get past Canberra, the Knights and Tigers are mid table.Good start by warriors now some consistency with a few wins put together
You look at that Roosters team on paper and it looks like a great team. The way they carried on in the game and then again in the press conference leads me to think that their victim mentality is going to rub them out of the top spots. Absolutely pathetic, you'd think there was a howler after howler in the officiating. They need to take a look in the mirror at their own horrible discipline, handling and the mental headspace they were in.
After they look in the mirror they need to take a look at the way the Warriors operated, which was superb. Well done Warriors; what a fantastically well coached and lead team.
