Warriors v Raiders – Round 12, 2025

Full-time: The Raiders have held on for a famous victory at Go Media Stadium, defending their way to a gritty six-point win over the Warriors. Jamal Fogarty was the hero, scoring the match-winner with 18 minutes left.

The hosts threw plenty at their opponents in the final 15 minutes and had multiple chances to score, but they couldn't break the Canberra defensive line. It's the Raiders first win in New Zealand since 2019 and they have now climbed into second on the ladder, with the Warriors dropping to third. Warriors 10 - Raiders 16.

79th minute: Warriors back rower Marata Niukore looked destined to score, only to be denied by a brilliant try-saving tackle by Corey Horsburgh and Morgan Smithies. The forward was rolled as he slid over the line and was held up. The Raiders then forced an error on the last tackle and they are 90 seconds away from victory. Warriors 10 - Raiders 16

78th minute: The Raiders are going to have to do it the hard way if they are to hold on to this one. They looked to have defused a Warriors bomb, however Tom Starling has been sent to the sin bin for a late shot on kicker Chanel Harris-Tavita. The Warriors now have two minutes to tie this game and send it to golden point. Warriors 10 - Raiders 16.

75th minute: The Raiders are desperately holding on as the Warriors throw everything they've got at their opponents. The hosts have spent the past five minutes camped inside the attacking 20m zone, however they have not been able to break through. Canberra forced an error off a kick, but making metres has proven difficult of late as the Warriors aim up in defence. Now Joseph Tapine has been placed on report for a shoulder charge, handing the Warriors another attacking set. Warriors 10 - Raiders 16.

69th minute: Now it's the Raiders' turn to defend their own line. Zac Hosking slipped while attempting to field the kick off, handing the Warriors prime attacking territory. The hosts peppered the line and forced multiple repeat sets and came close to scoring in the corner, only to be denied by desperate Canberra defence. The have received a boost, however, with Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad back on the field for the final 10 minutes. Warriors 10 - Raiders 16

64th minute: The Raiders have lifted their game to another level and started to open up some holes in the Warriors defensive line. Youngster Owen Pattie almost went through a set earlier, while Savelio Tamale broke made 40 metres on a kick return. Now Ata Mariota has poked his head through the defensive line before offloading to Jamal Fogarty, who raced away to score. The halfback converted his try from out wide to take the lead to six points. Warriors 10 - Raiders 16.

59th minute: We've had another sin bin. This time it's the Warriors who referee Adam Gee has run out of patience with and Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad has been handed a 10-minute breather after a string of set restarts. The Raiders took the two and Jamal Fogarty has levelled the scores. Nicoll-Klokstad's sin binning will likely see Roger Tuivasa-Sheck shift to fullback as the Warriors look to replicate the Raiders by not conceding a try while reduced to 12 men. Warriors 10 - Raiders 10.

56th minute: Joseph Tapine has turned up ready to play in his return to New Zealand. The Raiders skipper is fired up and forced an error with a big hit to hand his side an attacking opportunity. As this was happening, Canberra youngster Noah Martin ran on to the field for his NRL debut in front of 26,512 screaming fans at Go Media Stadium. Warriors 10 - Raiders 8

50th minute: The Warriors have edged their noses in front courtesy of another Luke Metcalf penalty goal. This one came on the back of a high tackle by Tom Starling on Jackson Ford, with Metcalf slotting the kick from 22 metres out, straight in front. Warriors 10 - Raiders 8

Kick-off: We are back for the second half, with the Raiders to have the breeze behind their back throughout the final 40 minutes of the contest. The Warriors, however, have a sold-out crowd urging them on as they look to extend a five-game winning streak. Warriors 8 - Raiders 8

Half-time: We've had a fascinating final six minutes of the first half, with Jamal Fogarty kicking a penalty goal to tie this game up at 8-all at the break. Fresh of Tom Starling's try, the Raiders quickly found themselves back on the attack and multiple line drop outs and set restarts saw them pepper the Warriors' line. The hosts desperately held on and had a line drop out with 30 seconds left in the half, however a miscommunication saw the chasers in front of the kicker and the Raiders received a penalty directly in front of the sticks.

It was a fascinating half in challenging conditions in Auckland, with both teams riding the ebbs and flows of an intense contest. Each side had chances to attack but the defence was outstanding to set up a blockbuster second half. Warriors 8 - Raiders 8.

33rd minute: The momentum was entirely with the Warriors but a couple of errors opened the door for the Raiders and that was all they needed to get back in the game. There was little happening before Centre Seb Kris stepped his way through a disjointed defensive line and offloaded to Tom Starling for their first points of the day. Warriors 8 - Raiders 6

Corey Horsburgh sent to the bin

28th minute: The Raiders have conceded four penalties and five six agains and referee Adam Gee has had enough, sending Corey Horsburgh to the sin bin. The latest discretion gave the Warriors a chance to extend their lead, however an errant pass let the visitors off the hook. Warriors 8 - Raiders 0

24th minute: The Auckland rain hasn't stopped the Warriors throwing the ball around and some enterprising play has led to the first try of the night. Winger Roger Tuivasa-Sheck put fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad through a hole on the kick return, with Tuivasa-Sheck finishing it off in the corner a couple of plays later with an impressive finish. Warriors 8 - Raiders 0

15th minute: In the blink of an eye, the Warriors have flipped the field and claimed all the momentum. A string of set restarts left the Raiders scrambling to defend their own line, before they conceded a penalty for a crusher tackle. Joseph Tapine was played on report for the tackle. Unlike their opponents, the hosts opted to take the two points on offer and Luke Metcalf made no mistake. Warriors 2 - Raiders 0

12th minute: The Raiders have arrived in New Zealand ready to play and they've largely controlled the opening exchanges at Go Media Stadium. Jamal Fogarty has produced a series of pinpoint bombs to force multiple repeat sets of six. The visitors also received a number of penalties in attacking territory and opted to push for a try rather than taking the two in wet conditions. A Corey Horsburgh error, however, brought the attacking opportunity to an end and the Warriors promptly worked their way out of trouble. Warriors 0 - Raiders 0
