WARRIORS HAVE THE BYE IN ROUND 5...

Dragons gave a template of getting a victory over storm, but they’ll have Hughes and NAS back. NAS can be hard to handle, but can be a bit of a liability for storm in recent times too. Bellamy might drop him back to Queensland cup for a stint?

I imagine NAS will be back, to counter our big boys.

It would be an immense effort to contain them with our current play style.

They know there’s massive work ons, but don’t think tigers are getting enough credit for how much they’ve improved. Round 1 we leaked points, but the following 2 games we were fairly good defensively. We came back fresh against manly and will have the opportunity to the same against storm after a bye

I hope the boys savor the win tonight. They deserve that and have a well-earned rest before turning our attention to this immense task. NAS and Hughes will both be back. Storm really missed Hughes in particular. I suspect Melbourne will be back to their damaging best with their full compliment back on a dry track rather than the torrential conditions at Jubilee. I can't see us winning this, but if we keep it to 1-12, I think we can take a lot out of the game. I can see us beating Brisbane at Mt Smart though. 4/6 after the next 2 weeks would be ideal.

If it’s a dry field then TMM time to shine….
Berry pushes in for Kosi
Great game by Ed in the wet & hopefully carries that confidence back into Cup …..

This is our 1st benchmark game this season….!!!!!
Time to return that thunder bolt right up the storms rissoles…..
Let’s eat……

I can't wait for Leka vs everybody. Particularly their edges and middles.

But it's really going to need this process thing where we trust what we're doing and not deviate.

Every other team's plan against us is to wear us down.
I think most teams try to go around us rather than through us. That's what the tigers seem to be trying to do as it became clear that we were too strong for them through the middle.

1. CNK
2. Tuaupiki
3. Leiataua
4. Berry
5. Pompey
6. CHT
7. Metcalf

8. JFH
9. Egan
10. Barney
11. Capewell
12. Niukore
13. Clarke

14. TMM
15. Ford
16. Halasima
17. Vaimauga

18. Healey
19. Laban
20. EIT
21. Afoa
22. Anybody
As above but with Berry on Right and Ali on Left. Also TMM swaps with Afoa.

I thought Bunty did well against the Tigers. Melbourne can’t do to us what the Tigers did in that middle stint. We need to be tight between minute 30 and minute 50. I thought Bunty added some steel which meant JFH Barny and Erin could run over the top of their middle in the last 25-30 min. Tigers are a good side. They’ll be competitive in all games and I reckon could go close to the 8 - which probably means a traditional 9th place finish for them.

Bunty is strong defensively and he gets the nod over TMM/Healy for this game.

Still…. Two weeks of rest. Storm have eagles at 4 Pines first which will be a tough game. Turbo looks out though for 5-6 weeks (kind of the norm for them) but they are a different beast at home.

Still feet up this week and looking forward to Storm and Broncos getting beaten up whilst we iron out the wrinkles and work on attacking shapes.

Reactions: kos
But worried about our outside backs and their meters.

*Tauapiki makes meters but not by bending the line
*Both Ali and Berry aren't meter eaters.
*Pompey also isn't a big meter water, averaging just over 100m this year.

Tbh I can't see how we fit TMM into that backline currently.

It makes me think that we might need someone like Kosi on a wing to help with those tough carries, as outside of CNK well struggle to make meters when we're getting in the grind with Melbourne

I'm picking the same team that was supposed to be playing last night. Berry back in and Kosi out.
I would like to see Berry have a couple more weeks in the lower grade but I'm sure if he's fit he'll be playing first grade. As for which side he plays? Not sure. Does either he or Leiatua have a preferred side?

I can't see TMM getting back into the team in the near future unless there's an injury. I think Metcalf has a few more weeks grace to prove himself. And nobody did themselves any great harm last night apart from some embarrassing missed tackles up the middle so business as usual from AW
