Pick Your Team Dragons v Warriors - [Round 10, 2025]

this argument about our p/d is getting a bit tiring and kind of misses the bigger picture re what Webby is trying to build during the early rounds. People forget that after round 10, our pts differential in 2023 was actually worse: -7.

Like 2023, clearly Webby's strategy during the early rounds is to simplify our gameplan around rebuilding our defensive DNA. This is definitely the right approach when you consider i) our young halves pairing (which is the most inexperienced in the nrl) are still developing and learning to gel together and ii) we are still missing our triple banger attacking threats (DWZ, RTS). That's going to lead to a lot of 1-12 wins along the way.

Points will come as the triple bangers near returns and webby begins to turn his attention towards more sophisticated attacking shape. We've already seen that in the last 2 weeks: we've scored 28 pts on average during that period vs 20 before. We have 18 weeks to fix our p/d. We all need to just chill in the mean time.
While I agree with the long term plan and that is how it will play out. I for one am over us having the worst significant points diff of the teams around us every single year. It always plays a factor is deciding the 8 and home ground advantage. It is very important, but of course win first is the priority.

The decision to take 2 in the second half is the kind of things that annoy me. Unless it is extending a one score lead to two score then it should never be an option imo

I cant see any official comms but it seems like train and trial contracted players cant play until round 11. Players on development contracts can play anytime
that means the only eligible cup player for promotion is Harper. I don't like that, I'd rather Capes shift to center even though he is coming into some form in the back row. RTS coming back this week in addition to DWZ would solve so many problems for us. I'd be tempted to push the boundaries on that possibility if I was webby. But knowing him, he'll probably back Capes in the center and shift Niukore to the second row.

They seem to know we have gotten amazing minutes out of Wade, and would be really pushing our luck to expect it continue.

The fact Halasima played 80 and was still leading the defence in the final minute, basically gives you an extra luxury spot on the bench, last week it was filled by Bunty but Ford, Barnett and Clark can all play long minutes in the middle. Healey is just about big enough to play a bit of lock late in a game.

Middle - Ford
Middle - Demetric
Hooker/Lock – Healey
Edge/Center – Laban

It looks a bit lightweight but the starting wingers returning will bolster the yardage a lot.

Someone has to go when Fish comes back, but someone else will get injured or suspended.

In hindsight, taking the 2 was very important because it put pressure on Drinkwater to nail every conversion which he failed to do. For all the attention arounds his goal kickings, Mets has kicked us to victory in half our wins (Tigers, Broncos and Cowboys). As for your frustrations, I understand but again it is only round 10. We have 17 weeks to fix our p/d. Of the two teams that beat us, we don't have Melbourne to flog us again and play Canberra during origin at home. The rest of our five remaining home games are against teams currently outside the 8, so there is ample opportunity to make up the p.d..

Got make the 8
No excuses
For Andrew Webster
You only as good as ya last win

I actually don’t mind Harper. Have followed for a while. Is he the fastest - he’ll no BUT he is quite deceiving. He gets a bit of a bad wrap. His post contact metres are always up there and as much as people go on about his defence - his efficiency is above 90%. I don’t think he should be put as wing u less there is no one else - centre - yes. People forget - attack scores points but defence wins games. He runs hard - and straight. Others jump in the air, look flashy and run sideways. I for one will be supporting any player that gets on the field
As long as Talakai isn't playing yeah!

I agree
I thought taking the 2 points was crap
They had Cowgirls on the rack
Should have tried attacking for more tries again
Put it right out of their reach
Top attacking teams
Will always come back
And if you have no possession
Your rogered😵😵

I'd be tempted to bring TMM in somewhere, a playmaking centre perhaps... else Harper..
Webby knows shuffling the team around too much aint good.. we've done well so far by keeping it to a minimum ....

As for the pts diff... LM getting better every game.. combos starting to click.. spine combos will develop as well.. once RTS, Ali, DWZ and Fish return. Points will come, the diff will get better for us... no need to peak too early...

Scary big team
If TT plays
He may very well b ragdolled out of stadium into the sea
If we playing Wollongong 😵😵
Over the last 2 weeks the dragons pack has been monstered by the Chooks and Tigers packs that we monstered not too long ago back in rounds 3 and 4 respectively. If we bring the same physicality we have been playing with all year, we shouldn't have a problem winning the ruck. Other than the last game, TT has been defensively solid all year against bigger opponents, so we should have faith in him to continue that effort on Saturday.
