Roger just said he signed in February after watching the 2 trials?!
He was officially announced on 20th April.

Crazy that the secret was kept so long!
That is pretty amazing. Quite a few people have commented how there looked like there was something different with our team after watching the trials.

The Tigers one was impressive in that we looked organised even with different players coming in. The problem is the quality of the opposition.
I remember not being too impressed with the Storm game. Remember thinking it could be a tough year.

After the first couple of rounds I could understand as we looked a lot better once the season started.

If he signed that early it makes you wander where all of the rumours were started from of him signing with different clubs, anyone but the Warriors.

Also heard I think it was Cameron George saying it came together quickly. But that made it seem like closer to the announcement date.

He was surprisingly candid and honest

Sounds like they will try him as Joey Manu so that would be on the left and roam around the park? The right edge is working like clockwork now

Imagine having Metcalf and Roger sniffing around

and not having a left edge LOL

Surely some jungle ball implemented to the game plan next year
Enough with the 'jungle ball' and all its connotations already! 😆
I get what you are saying re offloading but we need to find another moniker for it. And pretty sure offloads will come into our arsenal but it has to be more than 50/50 and hail Mary. It can make for an entertaining game but not necessarily a winning game...has to be as precise and effective as it can be first and giant-killing when it's used. Hopefully we get there.
Do we call what the Broncos did jungle ball? 🤔

My jungle ball definition is those plays where the forward runs hard, has the arms freed and life goes before his eyes, and nobody backed up, and commentator groans, or Metcalf & RTS were on either side of the forward, but he remembered Webby told him to stick with "the system" so he held onto the ball, and got a mouthful from Roger.

I just want the forwards to run hard with a speedster next to them, and if it's on then offload for a 50m sprint. We're really sticking with 5 tackles + kick right now, especially since Metcalf got injured again

Right now like others have said, our props offload the ball and the receivers don't know what to do, gets driven back 5m lol

Definitely an area to improve. Broncos showed what's possible in our match up. Offloads that lead to someone just running sideways and making 0 - 1 extra meters are mind numbing. All the risk no reward. Needs to be in the right timing, which takes some practice and familiarity. We're running back with largely the same team so hopefully we can start adding in these extras.

Lets just wait and see how the broncos offloading game goes against the panthers this week....
Good call.

And the Ref, you cannot offload and create second phase if you have no ball and no territory.

On paper it is the right tactic against the Riff.

Still haven't decided if I will stay up to watch it, probably will,

Leaning towards the Donkeys now, as I am sick of the kings of planet Smug.

Dunno why this is a hot topic in the RTS thread, the offloads I mean, Roger was a piss poor support player as a fullback, similar to CNK.

Perhaps he will do it more at center although that is not likely, doesn't suit the position or his game, still, will less kick return work (We should be amaze balls with RTS and CNK plus DWZ kick returning) maybe Roger will have more energy to run off his back row forward.

Nobody is reading this thread right now.
