The SkyCity Hamilton Waikato Women has named their team to face Canterbury in their final home at FMG Stadium Waikato in week 6 of the Farah Palmer Cup.
Head coach, Wayne Maxwell, has made five changes to his starting XV. There are two changes to the tight five, Awhina Tangen-Wainohu replaces Tanya Kalounivale in the front row and Esther Tilo-Faiaoga comes off the bench to start at lock in place of Tazmin Gaby-Sutherland, as the only changes to the forward pack.
In the backs, captain Chelsea Alley has been ruled out so Renee Holmes shifts out one spot to start at first five eight allowing Kennedy Tahau to come off the bench to start at halfback. The final changes to the starting XV are on the wings, impressive youngster Tyra Begbie has been named to make her debut for the province on the left wing and Sophie Millar gets her first start on the right wing.
In the reserves, Stephanie Lualua and Kiriana Nolan have a chance to make their debuts for Waikato and Francea Hansen, Emma-Lee Heta and
Raquel Anderson-Pitman all return to the match day 22.
Two players will be celebrating milestones this weekend, Azusa Yama is set to play her 10th match for the province, which is her Bell game and Calista Ruruku will play her 18th match for Waikato and will be rewarded with her Waikato blazer.
