And also his kick to Dalin? Last few weeks it has been noticeable that most teams have tightened up their defence on the goal line and more teams are using the kick it to Manu.

Yeah, that was a pin-point kick, extremely well executed - for me though it was the clear adjustment between the intercept and CNK's try which showed me something - for the first movement we would have scored if he'd gone short to CNK, so given the same scenario that's exactly what he does - negating all risk and optimising for the try - was great thinkingAnd also his kick to Dalin? Agreed, CNK's try was on the back of a fast play the ball from Barnett as well as the adjustment.Yeah, that was a pin-point kick, extremely well executed - for me though it was the clear adjustment between the intercept and CNK's try which showed me something - for the first movement we would have scored if he'd gone short to CNK, so given the same scenario that's exactly what he does - negating all risk and optimising for the try - was great thinking
Yea not sure why they don't penalise if they aren't making a genuine attempt to get out of the way. Why is lying still in the ruck acceptable!?Another thing that’s starting to annoy me (the Raiders do it more than any other team) is having a player on the last tackle standing between the dummy half and half back so the delivery for the kick is a couple of seconds later as the hooker has to move into a position to pass the ball giving the opposition team more time to put pressure on the kicker.
This is something that I think we forget the motivation for others at times. This was reflected in a statement by the Breakers CEO many years ago that every time an Australian club/franchise pulls on the jersey against a NZ team, it's a test match.) That was peak career Latrell mitchell coming at us. At a certain point you need to just appreciate when a modern legend of the game like Tapine last week, or Latrell this week performs well.
Agreed. The Aussie teams often call us "New Zealand" instead of the Warriors. This is something that I think we forget the motivation for others at times. Damn, Some of those old geriatric podcasters Webby and Gilly still call us Auckland man.Agreed. The Aussie teams often call us "New Zealand" instead of the Warriors.
Pretty standard for most defences tho isnt it who are always trying to push that line. Im sure an unbiased eye could pick out multiple times we did that as well. Particulary defenders out a bit wider, away from the scrutiny of being in the ruck. Would be nice to know the ruling of when is the exact moment a defender can start moving forward in a play the ball.
As mentioned in the Johnstone intercept the freeze frame showed he had a foot on the line when the ball was placed on the ground and was the moment he rushed forward. Clear penalty if he was supposed to wait for the dummyhalf to touch the ball but nobody can really clarify that rule it seems
What's ridiculous I thought was people thinking a tally to rank teams on a ladder is not important. That's some brain-dead stuff.the passive aggression is ridiculous bro.
Why would anyone on here be happy being mediorcre?
For what it's worth, I doubt PD has ever come out of Bellamy's mouth.
It's a byproduct of performance not a target.
Chill.
Yeah that still sounds pretty ambiguous as fuck....especially once u start leaving it up to the refs discretion. The rule is when the ball has cleared the ruck.
The Ref determines when that is (typical eh) you are allowed to enter the ten meters when the Ref yells go.
I think most refs interpret it as soon as the ball travels backwards from the foot or is rolled behind the player in a convincing attempt to play it, it's in play and you're good to advance.Yeah that still sounds pretty ambiguous as fuck....especially once u start leaving it up to the refs discretion.
An earlier poster gave the official definition of the ruck as "the area between the person playing the ball and the marker"........"when the ball has cleared the ruck" implies (to me anyway) once the dummyhalf has picked the ball up......in which case in nearly every roll ball every defence is offside as u see them getting off their line well before that happens......seems to come back to the "whim of the ref" situation when he decides to call them.

Bloke in a bar nominating CNK as their hungriest player. Pretty amazing that CNK made as many post contact meters (100) as Latrell made total meters (104) in that game.
