There are rumours that the NRL are leaning towards letting Kiwi and English eligible players play Origin.
Maybe Ponga is counting on that and didn’t want to turn down the QLD Morons jersey if he can do both.
At the same time if he really wanted to play for the Kiwis he would’ve done the same as AJ Brimson already.

Pretty meh team if I'm honest. A wee bit disappointed. Capewah should be there imo (although great for us). I don't like big red either but his numbers this year have been really impressive.
Toia is a very hard sell, to be selected this early he'd have to be a bit of a Greg Inglis/Izzy Folou hybrid which, after 10 games has not evidenced.

Arthurs moved to Australia "as a teen" and is only 26 now so it's a close run thing.

He’s made it pretty clear that Tonga is where he sees his international career. Think things might really change soon where Tonga at least are seen as a tier one nation. Could coincide with origin eligibility and Kiwi eligible players becoming available?

Leka was born in Tonga, But has spent most of his life in NZ. No different to Toia & Arthars being born in NZ and raised in Aus. Why can't we approach Leka? Altho, Leka has already stated he wants to rep Tonga. And so he should.
