He literally could just say - I'll come for my same contract at Penrith. But from the kindness of his heart goes low?

You seriously think the club that was trying to sign BHU for $700k would lowball the 3 x champ, golden boot, Kiwis Captain?

Like literally all the manager would need to do is name the salary and then deal would be done.
Cool he could always sign with the other NZ club? Oh. wait..

Not taking the piss, but this did not age well.
In fairness, we're Warriors fans, we're conditioned to believe that it's our station in life to sign the Unloved and the Desperate. Not the Wanted. So to get a hint that someoned Wanted Wants the Warriors might well bring out the Yeah You're Taking The Mickey Police in force, revolvers drawn...

Bloody excited about this signing for next year - massive news for the club (and the code/game in NZ)!! Kudos to all parties for how it was handled - clean business.

The one thing that does worry me is the impact this news might have for this year - particularly on AFB (and his family). There have already been theories / suggestions that he is a bit on the outer because he is leaving, which seems strange given the public support for him from the likes of Jazz since his departure has been announced, but you'd like to think Webby will be sticking close to AFB and making sure this doesn't impact his happiness or performance this year. He is a very important cog in any tilt we have at this year's premiership, and I hope that deep down he now wants a premiership more than ever - so he can be the Alpha prop that led us to the first premiership, before JFH lands at the club. In Webby we trust!

It's very funny to watch Penrith fans moving through the stages of grief. It's identical, maybe even worse than what was going on here with AFB.

It's being reported in this article that Warriors approached Penrith first some time after the announcement about an AFB player swap, Panthers declined to explore it.

(what a smart strategy from us, get it done like for like with Leota or JFH).

Also, Kenty can get absolutely you know what with lines of questioning like this. The rule is you can't present an offer, but discussing what an offer might look like is different.

Have to laugh at Kenty - he can go and get fucked.

We've evidenced how much we give a shit about our players, consistently letting players out of contracts for compassionate reasons- Walsh and AFB are two of the biggest names in the game and we let them walk. Also let our COVID boys go home when they were too homesick in Australia.

Now this prick is saying we should get fined for signing JFH, even tho it sounds like he's approached us and there's no evidence the Warriors have done anything unjust?

Absolute tool bag.

He came to us in an official manner.

But, it has been written that he is very close to Stacey and had heard from Webby too that if he were ever keen we would be keen.

Which is all fine as long as we did not present a formal offer.

Isn't funny how nobody bats an eye when the Warriors let players go on compassionate grounds (Addin, Walsh) but as soon as it goes the other way the Warriors are public enemy #1. Where was this outrage when the Walsh and Addin situations went down? I know Kent does this fake rage performance to generate attention but this is embarrassing.

Yea it's fake as hell and kind of funny that James Hopper called him out.

Mainly it feels like Sour grapes because we are making moves and his Eels got Lomax 🤣🤣

And supported Volkman

The best thing for league would be for Kent (not Kenty) to get his ugly face off NRL360 which was far more watchable when he wasn’t there

I posted this article earlier when it broke.

It has been updated with a lot of detail about how this happened.

The big one is that Webby contacted Penrith before the AFB news went public. Webby asked if they had any intention of releasing JFH, he did not mention the impending AFB news. They logically said 'No' and it was left at that.

The report states that had they known JFHs intentions it would have been a done deal and AFB would be a Panther.

Overall, I think we got bloody lucky, their recent dominance may have softened them.

LOVE the JFH news of course in it's own right.... legend.

Also love the 2 bonus points:
>Under NRL rules next 2 years he can't be paid more than he was on @ Penrith right?
>How much more attractive are we now for other potential recruits / re-signs??

Lock up Mitch. Recycle SJ for another year.... loving it.

Suddenly no longer looking like this is an all or nothing year... feels like we're building a base to compete with the likes of Penrith, Roosters, Broncos and Melbourne in the long run.

Hope the NRL doesn't screw us up by adding another NZ team TBH

It's quite amazing how Penrith have managed this situation.

Contrast that with the Sharks or how Flannegan would handle it.

Say alot about that club and the standing JFH has with them too.
