What do you see you next Tuesdays think ?
Can we beat Brisbane and more importantly will we beat them ?
More bullshitter than heavy hitter- was that cockney slang or did predictive text get u?
Either way- since u asked….
I would be amazed if there were any changes to the 17.
I’m a big believer in never changing a winning side and even a little superstitious about it so I’m hoping there’s not cause that would put me right off me shot.
I honestly think we’re gonna beat them wrighty.
Ive been saying for a couple of years the broncos have the most talented squad in the comp but there is also a lot of ego and errors in that lineup that I believe we can exploit.
The knights were the perfect warm up in some senses- both have exceptional outside backs and I can see our kick chase dragging them into deep water and they’re not used to playing off the back foot- the knights back 3 were flustered and we can rinse and repeat that.
Walsh, like ponga looks a million dollars when he’s running downhill but as we well know when the boots on the other foot he can also be a liability.
Their pack is a big step up from the knights though and that’s gonna be a hell of a clash.
Here’s a wee story for ya…
I went to the 2001 gf- parra were a very young side who had smashed all attacking records on their way to the minor premiership and came in red hot favorite’s to account for the unfashionable knights.
I just happened to be there when the two team buses arrived- the parra boys got off first and looked pretty happy with themselves then the knights starting coming off their bus and Andrew Johns started yelling- look at them- they’re a bunch of kids- they’re shitting themselves- they’re not ready for this etc…. U could tell it rattled some of the parra boys and the knights came out and absolutely blitzed them.
It was men against boys- that’s what I see here- a bunch of brilliant young upstarts against a team of hardened battlers ready to take it into the trenches.
It’s gonna be a hell of a game.

The Jazz vs Siro discussion is not really an either or situation because they are not like for like.

Webster is like NASA, he likes back up systems for his back up systems. That is why Siro always gets picked, because he can play in the forwards and the backline.

So can Walker, but Siro gives Webster a back up for Walker as a utility player, which is a hell of a luxury in any injury scenario, especially if you lose Walker and a half, or a half and a hooker.

Jazz on the other hand is a Prop forward. The days of being a hooker are behind him, he did say that he struggles with passing off the ground and never wanted to be a hooker, but the Warriors made him play dummy half.

Agreed that CHT will come in and be a potential replacement for Sironen because he can tackle like a forward and ball play.

Also I am with Defence on the no changing a winning team, especially the one that played the most clinical game that the Warriors have ever played in their entire history.

They literally did a Melbourne Storm on the Knights by starving them of possession for 16 minutes or so, that is nuts, and why the Knights had one second quarter surge, then once the Warriors patiently waited till they struck back the Knights defence pretty much fell apart, they were gassed.

Was that the game where Parra tried valiantly to come close in the second half. But Knights already did most of the damage in the first half? Like scored 30 or 40 points?

Nice run down. The Ref worries me, but we will just have to suck that up, hopefully without being blown off the park by the massive leg up the Donkeys will get in the first half.

I agree with Shaun Johnson, if they play like they did this weekend we will win. That would mean starving the Broncos for the first quarter, holding them to ten points or less up into half time, and going out there and winning the second half off a massive lift at half time, which we have seen this side do at Shark Park, at Mt Smart, and at Canberra.

We tend to play very well this year after a good win like the Knights game.

Websters team need to look no further than the two Storm games vs Brisbane. They are recent, they show how the Broncos lost, then how they adapted their game and how the Storm dropped off in key areas.

Between those two matches you can see exactly what works against the Broncos and where the same opponent came unstuck a week later.

The B side Broncos beat us this year through a perfect Reynolds kicking display, he was pin point perfect and pinned and strangled us. We dropped four try scoring chances in that game due to incredible Broncos defence.

Reynolds is the best kicker in the game, but that night was rare from him, one of his rare perfect 10 games, and we can reasonably hope they he will not hit that same peak the second time around with some kick pressure.

We know how to play Reece, we know exactly where his flaws are. Our centers should be feeling pretty confident this week and we are a lot tighter with TMM out there.

I think this one is going to surprise everyone and be a defence-athon. Everyone is expecting an attacking high scoring game, I think it will be a twelve all thriller into the second half and someone gets one try and it is good night Nurse.

It is crazy how many trys we are scoring through the middle third because sides do not expect our players to go hungus pump a fake from Dummy half and stroll in or pop a short ball to a direct running forward. Everyone is watching SJ and the Warriors right edge.

The one thing we have going into any game against the Broncos is that they are one of only two super sides that the Warriors just don't fear when we play them (the Storm being the other).

We are at full strength two weeks in a row for the first time all season and we saw how critical it is to the Warriors to have all their best players on the park, all thirteen plus subs.

Unlike the other top four teams, we cannot lose a key guy and pump out our best, we are just too early in our development as a new team. Next year we will be a lot better with slotting guys in from a more mature NSW cup side.

But the Gods willing we will not have to worry about that this Saturday and I think we just won't stop coming at the Broncos if the Ref allows us to compete and they will blink first because it is not in their psyche to find themselves in a dark alley fight with the useless Warriors at Lang Park.

I know one thing for sure, Warriors fans will deal with a loss better than Donkeys fans, they just won't know how to compute a good smashing by the Warriors. They already think they are in the GF.

Absolutely brother friends for life ot however long I last until I do something stupid and get banned
You are right Bailey takes better options
Jazz has better service
Also jazx by memory was work shy compared to Bailey and on some occasions jazz wouldn’t turn up to the ruck as often as say a more fit premier level hooker consistently makes it around the park.

Wrighty go back and watch the minutes when Egan was in HIA in our very first game of the year, Walker, Jazz and Siro all had a go and you can see why the bald bros were never used at dummy half again

Have the Broncos A side played many tight games and won this year?

I reckon we could do what the Raiders did to the Knights but with an actual field goal specialist at the death

great pack

Afb
Tohu
Barnett
Niukore
Ford

Then

Afb
Walker
Tohu
Curran(injury forced)
Ford

Then Jazz for AFB ( 20 odd mins)
Subbed after he sort of missed the tackle , Clunes try? (Sybjective)
Sirro comes on, plays great imo. offers a pass , good support mobile defence.
Then Barnett for Walker.

So it's currently.

Sirro
Tohu
Barnett

Strange middle, very effective though.
Niukore comes back on for Curran around this time.

Then with 13 to go Egan shatters as per.
Sirro to 9 and AFB on.

Almost like Webby's taken the small mobile forwards model to the next level, 'the no props at all model'.
We're witnessing the last stage of the plan, the Final Webolution.
Also he was clearly saving Addin for the Broncos, the Knights were merely a training run.

Definitely can't change a team after a win like that.

Can understand maybe wanting to swap Jazz to Ale or Bunty, but I think Jazz' impact is as much intangible as it is run metres, tackles made etc.

Also, how good that we finally got the matching set for Bald Bro Tries..

This is the producer of Martin Devlin's sport show on "The Platform"

Also deleted a post saying "Fuck The Wahs"

Hilariously he says he's a diehard Broncos because he's been a fan since 2007.

NZ Broncos fan always give off jealous ex girlfriend vibes... weirdos

I always find it truly odd when someone adopts a foreign team when there is a local one available

I'd imagine in a war situtation, they'd be the first to defect to the other side and start snitching. Or in prison, they'd be on the side of the screws. Or they'd be a neighbour that dobs you in for parking funny. Or they'd make a point of mowing their berm only up to the edge of their property line, when they could easily make things look nicer overall by just mowing a bit further.

Never trust these guys

The old school ones who already had a team before the warriors came into the comp in 95 I can respect- the ones who just latched onto a random team they have no connection with just because they were winning that year gtfo.
