International Pacific Championship

Ah that sucks to read.

I was looking forward to a dead even contest which is where this was poised going into this weekend (only two points separating the sides, real world data).

Having said that, many Kiwi fans will be expecting a win based off how strong the Kiwis were vs Tonga and based off internal bias about NZ exceptionalism.
It's gonna be hard for us to deal with the Kiwi middles. Even in the first game we found it hard to get out of our own end in the first half. We got a bit more joy when we shifted the ball a bit - that's probably the plan for the final.

Haas is the only player in our pack that I'd say would make the Kiwis team. It's stacked.

Junior Paulo has been in the beast form I can remember from him in recent times and leading from the front. Some Luai creativity would probably be what would make Samoa most threatening if the forwards can match it with Kiwis. The Kiwis don’t lose much when the bench comes on

Oh the Kiwis came out with so much intent in the first game, they dominated up front in the first part of the game.
Obviously Samoa took that on board because their first set on D against Tonga was absolutely brutal.
Didn’t see Haas at the parade yesterday so hopefully there’s nothing going on there.
Been so impressed with Molo this series, I wondered why he was selected but he’s surprised me.
Toa got to be at their best to match it with the Kiwis in the pack.

One of the few times I've seen the Toa start a game like that.

They mentioned at the parade that Haas had to go to Brisbane for some family stuff, but he'll be back for the game.

Molo's been a nice surprise. Didn't expect much from him, but he's been good.
