International Pacific Championship

IMO, France and PNG are where international rugby league should be concentrating. Commercially there’ll be more money. And arguably 2 almost untapped resources. (There is absolutely money in PNG)

Super league should suspend promotion/relegation for 3-5 years to give the French teams (Toulouse really) a chance to get its upper level foundations sets. The French U20 (Union) has easily been the best over the last 8 odd years. So could be some opportunities there.

And PNG is an available yet untapped resource. IMO, Within 10 years of the PNG chiefs coming in. They would have produced more players for the NRL then Melbourne and Perth combined. Betcha…..
Which is only a good thing for the international game.

My bad if I came across mad aggressive. I'm passionate about International Rugby League bro. And I love where it is heading. Samoa & Tonga are powerful! I want it to stay that way. Hopefully Payne doesn't return to Oz next year. Thats what pisses me off. Stick & commit.
Nah all good bro, I totally respect your opinion but I do disagree with you.
But we would just go around in circles trying to convince each other if we continue 😂
The positive is this weeks game should be off its head!

Good to see Warriors got some of their Youngsters out to train opposed with the Kiwis - pretty cool experience for them.

That is awesome to see. I actually dropped into this thread to ask if we were including any next generation players in camp because I have heard Tonga have invited Antonio Verhoeven (St Bedes College Christchurch last year & 2025 Australian Schoolboy), originally from Kumara, West Coast, into their camp

Who is next cab off the rank for Kiwis now that Ronny is out?

Wonder if they move Kini to fullback, CNK to centre and slide McLean out to wing.
That makes sense but I don’t know if you move McLean after that display on the weekend.
Maybe just play Kris on the wing but against Katoas kicking game that could be an issue though.
Think you might be right.

Tongan from the West Coast, that's a hell of a rugby league cocktail.

I do like your thinking .

Interesting that in a few years time the likes of Samoa and Tonga may not be the power houses that they are now . Many of the current players rely upon their grandparents to qualify to play for their respective countries .The next generation of players won’t have that luxury .

This won’t apply to PNG and Fiji has they have a higher portion of locally born players .

agree, watched kiwi nrl poddy other night, said the crowd giving the kiwi haka bit of shit, dam, gotta feel sorry for the poly boys must be getting it from family, friends and the Islands for picking the kiwi jersey. I mean if the shoe was on the other foot, if player was half caste māori and Samoan? I'd be p'd off if he didn't pick the kiwis, it got even worse for me when I saw RTS and Chanel playing against us (pretty sad of me), not handling it well, hei aha such is life. the only solution i can think of is starting from school boy league say 4th form get all players to make a choice what country they want to represent, stick to it and no changing your mind - keep it simple stupid.
