Massive game tomorrow for the team.
We’ve only won 1 of our last 6 games during the Origin period during the last few years. This used to be our time to build momentum. We can’t let the dragons get their first win of the season against us.
Win this, and it’s huge.
Such a Warriors thing to do in years gone by, and still a real thing for the PTSD crew, a win here is actually a lot bigger deal than it appears on paper.
Funny how all the Aussie media people pumping up the dragons in this game think that possible rain might work against us. They clearly didn't see us pump the Raiders by 34 in torrential weather conditions. We thrive in shit fights: if the dragons want to turn this in a grind, they have another thing coming. We are ready to win this 10-8 just as much as we are ready to win it 60-8 in dry open conditions.
With Su'a out, that dragons team is looking like a team full of kids. They have clearly thrown the towel in on the year and just want to get experience in their young lads. As much as we all have a soft spot for Tu and all he has gone through, it would be malpractice by us if AKP doesn't get a hat trick this week. Buchanan/Tu vs RTS/AKP is a big mismatch in our direction speed wise and dragons are the worst defense on that edge.
I expect this to be like the parra game where it will be tight for long periods. But we will run away with it in the end. Anything other than Wahs 13+ will be a disappointment.
If it is anything like last week they will rip in for 50-60 minutes. But towards the end of the game, they will drop off and our superior fitness will win out. They are like the Eels: as much as they try their guts out, they are not at the pt where they can play close to 80 minutes consistently. Their bench rotation is made up of plodders whose time has passed (Guler/Lawrie, etc) and is where we have the clear advantage in the middle.
