I mean provided our pack is healthy for the rest of the year I’m not too worried who plays 7. Just hoping Metcalf doesn’t have one eye on next season and hasn’t lost the respect of his teammates.

It was the whole Joey Johns xfactor schpeal thing that got me thinking.

What if the reason why Boyd works is the same reason why people doubt his ability to get us out of a jam.

What if the reason why people think TMM is bog average is the same reason why he slotted in seemlessly for Boyd.

What if our xfactor is in our pack and our 7 plays a purely organisational role?

I back Webby to get the most out of Metcalf. If we were concerned we would have shipped him straight away.

The only proviso I would have is if Metcalf needs a staggered reintroduction post injury.

Yup it’s a premiership pack just need someone to run shapes and ice the points, I prefer TMM due to team harmony and he did great in 2024, but I am worried about opposition starting from 30m, wasn’t there video of boyd cht hansen etc measuring kicking distance preseason?

The way I view the Metcalf/Boyd X factor/Organiser is similar to how I view a gunslinger vs game manager in the NFL both have pros and cons but both are proven to win you a championship you don’t necessarily need X factor to win championships if the whole team are doing their job

Yeah, surely the primary focus for the half has to be unleashing, Leka, Ali, DWZ and AKP. You have enough weapons to cause confusion in the defensive line. We don't need whole lot, but our kicking game is what's in question now.

No disrespect to the Mikiafu fans but I believe Martin deserves his shot.

No idea who to pick until Origin is announced.

We could be facing the prospect of being without an entire starting caliber front row plus Capewell, with Boyd, RTS and CNK still missing too.

Big opportunity for the youngsters to step up.

If true they need to give him the chance to re-earn it. I was less then impressed with some of the way LM has handled the situation. But the club choose for him stay for this year.

I would suggest a quick meeting between LM and the senior players where they clear the air and all agree we are winning a premiership this year. I love TMN and he was brilliant but I think LM gets his chance to lead us to a premiership! (For as long he stays fit anyway)

Metcalf possibly to cup then in the mix v Panthers (just mentioned metcslf hasnt done any drills for past two weeks etc).
