He is not an ideal player to chase that premiership we are all after though and he is aging.

Watch his finishes, he can't get the speed to go aerial anymore like he used to.

I like all these guys, but like I said, we need to build a brand new back line around Boyd and well everyone on here can at least agree on that point whether they like Boyd or not, we all agree most of our edge needs to change (people just don't agree on who needs to go).

I say flick all the older guys and keep pushing in the direction of your Warbricks and Andersons etc.
27 backline

Metcalf
Khan-pereira
Norris
Leiataua
Warbrick
Harris-Tavita
Boyd

We can still tweak our current backline this year and have a good crack

One criticism was DWZ staying down again. He’s really despised by other teams fans because of it I’ve seen around. I’m convinced Egan has some acting skills about him to get Healey into the game too
It's warranted but we won so I don't care in that context. When we lose I do tend to add it to reasons we lose.

I liked what I saw from AKP. Not a perfect game BUT he dived on the loose ball, took necessary hit ups, tried his best to scramble and make his tackles. He looked committed and desperate. That's what we want. He's not gonna score a whole lot outside RTS but I loved his attitude.

Demetric = Awesome.
Erin = Powerful.
CHT = awesome game and the whole defensive line felt better.
Ali L = was a presence even though there were a couple of little mistakes. Keep him in the side, he will develop into something special.

It looked like RTS to 6 & Leka to Centre for that brief period
They seem keen to play Halasima at centre whenever the opportunity arises but I think were probably aware that storm were preparing for that? RTS just played his role that he does on the wing and had a presence. Don’t think this occurred because of that and didn’t see CHT injured? Sasagi is proving to be a great centre/second row hybrid

Still get the feeling we’re after a big body like him for exactly the purpose of how he got his try, too big to handle close to the line like we had with AFB. Vaimauga was epic but just doesn’t quite have the size to burst through as a couple of occasions showed
Yeah TT thought he was about 30 kg heavier than he was when he denied DWZ his hat-trick.

Watching our evolution over the past few seasons, it was very defensively orientated but this season the shackles look like they’ve been broken and they feel generally comfortable in their defensive process and this season willing to attack. Over multiple preseasons I’ve listened to players say everything has gotten faster and this season it’s evident. I think that’s why we got caught out a few times with no one at dummy half, it’s not good but it’s our willingness to play quick. This will hopefully be an important season in our evolution to overcome teams like storm that we have mentally had issues to overcome
