And to think the rumour was that in 2013 we would have been coached by that numpty Craig Bellamy guy if everyone had kept their mouth shut until Craig had given the Storm the "it's not me, it's you" speech.

Bullet. Dodged.

I own a bar in Thailand and I cant think of a better time to retire my faithful jersey and put it on the wall in the bar.

What a performance, troops down, 17 game losing streak, pretenders or contenders on the line....Storm hurting and needing a win....
It was the perfect storm that the Warriors of old probably would have let slip.

One of the most the best wins in the clubs history in my less than expert opinion.

Apologies that the screen shot is of the Blues 🤣

Blues let Auckland down tonight. What a horrendous watch that was.

What’s the debate ???? There is no debate

Its obviously Boyd

There is complexity here.

If it's Boyd then it's not "we have to pick Boyd" - We have to sign Boyd!

Here is my solution:
We let Boyd go for next year, but commit to him this year.
  • Obviously I think we should try to sign him but I'm sure someone like Dragons / Perth are going to come knocking with a big deal. A very good halfback is not normally available like this.

We tell Metcalf "we are committed to you and your contract, but you are backup this year"
  • I wouldn't put him in NSW Cup, he should be on the extended bench, and he'll get used at times.

Met will hate that but he'll understand. You only have to look at what a full pre-season has produced for both Met (2025) and Boyd this year. Give Met another preseason as 'The Guy' and you still have the depth in halves coming through too when he inevitably gets injured.

Met’s probably stuck here too imagine asking Sydney clubs to pay $900K for 10 games a season, or maybe dragons and bears come for Boyd and we entice them to take Met’s contract and use it to pay Boyd 😂

I just think Boyd’s played 16 consecutive games he’s the pompey of the halves, it’s one thing to have a long term injury it’s another to have regular 6 week muscle strains every 6 weeks

Maybe Met’s super sub or lance hoheia it and he might play more minutes combined off the bench than trying to start regularly

I think it's working out combinations. CHT is the best defensive 6 in the game with Brown. But he doesn't lead the attack the way Mets does. Mets is in the same position Tanah was in last year, coming into a successful team - tough act to follow. His rustiness shows. I think CNK FB, wingers DWZ and AKP, let Leiataua and Pompey run the centres. CHT deserves 6 and Tanah 7. Mets off the bench I reckon. He needs to fit in. He's off the pace right now. TT has a low ceiling. I don't know why he got resigned. Ratcliffe/LeMana/Norris would be better.
You are dropping RTS after one of his greatest ever games? Not sure about that.

Metcalf is super talented, but it is doubtful if his legs are up for an extended run in the NRL. It's would be a huge call to mess with Tannah's confidence by dropping him for an injury prone Metcalf. I think Metcalf should be told that he needs 6 weeks of NSW cup when back to prove his fitness, by then we will have a clear picture of when TB is at.
Why on earth would we bring back Metcalf now for either Boyd or CHT? That needs to be our 6 and 7 moving forward

So the people writing off RTS 🤣🤣 holy shit thats one of his greatest games ever. Maybe our best ever victory? Holy shit outstanding.....
I’ll admit, I wrote him off. But he has been playing like a busted donkey on the wing but he was a straight Dawg this game, he has to stay there.
One of Webbys downfalls is being loyal to a fault to his fav players. If there ever was a time to be loyal to a playing group it’s this one, first side to beat the storm since 2015.

Capewell can come in for Marata tho

Hopefully it's an eye opener.

Coming straight into Centre from rugby was (in hindsight) a big learning curve.
- he was also moved around a lot.

Long-term on the wing and move in one spot, ace.

A good hard think needed if this is a better combo than the safe Pompey option.

It's a big test for Webby, I hope he warms to it.

I really do believe we can make the Grand Final this season. Can Webby see it?

Can Webby burn bridges? I think that's what it takes...

Bennett & Wally is famous

Ivan & Mansour, that was big news, cut him loose after the GF loss, won the next 4.

Can Webby put the right ones to pasture? A deep and famous run is possible if he can.

There’s 3 players imo. Pompey, Charnze and Marata.

Charnze is a difficult one only because our Fullback stocks are so slim and I really dont mind who plays 1 out of him or Taine because they’re both average tbh.

but any one who watched Metcalf play fullback for Cronulla know how good a fullback he can be I just don’t know if Webby has that much adventure in him.

For all the talk of Mets vs TB, I think the decision between CNK vs TT is just as important for the team. Just as TB works better with CHT, I think he does his best work when TT is at the back, not CNK. It's probably because of the chemistry they have from the cup team, but they seem to work really well together. So if we are going with TB moving forward, I think it has to be TT at the back, not CNK. I realize I don't have much sample to make that statement- I'm just going off last year and the 2 games Charnze has been playing at the back.
