Maybe we stream the comps? Have a more serious one and then one for beginners and less serious players? I'm happy to run an secondary comp again if its needed or wanted.

I reckon we just throw all the names into a generator and create the leagues that way? Probably the fairest way to do it but open to whatever else you guys may want to do.

That would work. I thought it was fine last year as well where we had the first league fill up based on who replied to this thread first, then created the overflow league with the next lot of names. From memory some had to play in both leagues to make up numbers for the overflow one.

Isnt NRL Fantasy all for beginners?

I've heard of forums running competition's like this where there was ranked leagues and depending on where you finished you could bump up or down leagues the next year. Kind of like promotion and relegation in football. But that forum had huge numbers of players. made for an interesting comp though. To win the comp took years because you had to first move up all the ranks.
I'm not suggesting this forum should do that, its just something that interested me when they explained it.

Just an idea wrighty as you seem to be the main man here, but what are your thoughts on compiling a list of everyone that’s keen and giving the guys from last years og and overflow comp first dibs? Especially the guys that finished the year still giving it a crack…there was probably 4 guys in the og comp that stopped playing well before the season finished. Unless they just ran out of trades

I have slept on this

1) Nearly everyone who has signed up so far was in the OG and Overrun groups last year barring one or two.
2) Nearly everyone who has signed up so far was active barring one or two.
3) In general I think it is important to follow the KISS rule so it should be First in First served with the first sign ups going into the OG group and the rest going into the Overrun group (if we get enough sign ups for an over run group).
4) One or two of the top players from last year have yet to sign up and per your point about first dibs I may shuffle one or two of those top performers, should they sign up soon, into the OG group and shuffle out into the Overrun group a first timer or someone who finished near the bottom of their group last year (which is indicative they were likely inactive near the end).
5) We are currently at 20 which is the limit for one group. Let's see how many more we get and whether there will be an overrun group first before firming this up. And let's see whether those one or two top performers do sign up in the next few days or not. As there may not be the need to shuffle anybody to accommodate them if they simply don't sign up.
6) If I do end up doing some small shuffling as described above then the Overrun league this year maybe more of a lighter comp encouraging everyone to stay active in it. I hope that point makes sense. And if there is any shuffling it will literally be for one or two and not three or four, therefore the OG group will be very similar to the first twenty sign ups I posted above.
7) I placed a warning in the OP that you need to commit to being active the whole year before signing up.
8) If anyone in that first twenty so far would prefer to be in the overrun group please let me know.

Could Fox/Sharman Cup it? assuming the ladders for last years comps can even still be viewed and take the best of the '25 O.G and '25 Overrun for one league, and the '25 bottom feeders ...less fortunate (such as myself lol) + any newcomers make up the other? Just throwing an idea out
