Social NZ Warriors NRL Fantasy Competition 2025

🤖 Thread Summary

This discussion centers around the 2025 NRL Fantasy competition organized by Warriors forum members, specifically focusing on team selection, league management, and early season performance analysis. The conversation shows the evolution from initial league setup through to round one results and round two planning.
Wrighty #1 established the competition format using the same head-to-head structure as the previous year, with 20 participants confirmed after initial interest exceeded capacity. Dantheman #44 set up the league and managed access codes, while discussions emerged about whether to include major bye rounds in head-to-head matchups. The timing proved challenging with the late opening of the NRL Fantasy website, creating delays in team preparation.
Recent discussions focus heavily on round one performances and round two strategy adjustments. Fizurg #234 noted that Luke Metcalf had -17 demerits with zero goals and minimal attacking stats, representing a disappointing start for many who selected him. Wrighty #228 expressed regret about selecting three Warriors players, acknowledging their poor collective performance cost him his head-to-head matchup. Several participants highlighted Payne Haas's dominant 77-point performance, with Dantheman #259 emphasizing his confidence in starting with the Broncos forward.
Player evaluation discussions reveal sophisticated analysis approaches, with participants weighing factors like job security, price rises, and breakeven points. Makasene #357 described trading Metcalf for Dean Humphreys despite initial reluctance, recognizing the financial opportunity with Humphreys priced at a -6 breakeven. Fizurg #361 warned against missing emerging players like Humphreys, noting that delaying such acquisitions could leave teams financially disadvantaged as player values rise rapidly.

I'm looking at herbie to KPP and Foketi to Munster which would leave me 3,

Tempted to do a 3rd of Yeo to Carrigan but might need to watch injuries for another week. It does feel like 3 is needed for injury cover with the way players have been dropping- I will have a strongish 19 but have Lawon and Joash in 20 and 21

Good luck for the finals guys. I've managed to fluke my way into the top 8. So looking forward to facing Tookey this week. Wish i had of snuck into the top four, I'm thinking a second chance next week might be necessary for my team.

I am very sorry to report this to all his owners - but Aitken being out has forced me to reverse my Garrick trade (and keep him) and trade out Aitken for KPP. Naturally this means KPP will score 25 points so I am apologising up front.

Can someone more talented than I please use footy stats.com and come back and post the top 5 captaincy choices this week?

Who we captaining? I'm think of risking JC.
He is against the rabbits... So it will likely be a high scoring game. But the titans are so rocks and diamonds. So im not 100% on them having turned a corner after our match and the panthers one.
