Was listening to the Bill Simmons podcast re: the WNBA the other day.

And they were complaining because the WNBA teams don't have the same names as the NBA franchises which was interesting.

3 she black gold medalists are joining the NRLW.. Tyla King (Dragons) Stacey Waaka (Broncos) & Tenika Willison (Knights)

We have a women's 9s comp over here which Wigan won last week.

St Helens have won the last 4 challenge cups (the last 2 being at wembley) and York are the top side in the league, but Wigan have long been talked about as having the best academy.

Denis Betts has taken over as coach this season and we have cut the gap massively between us and the top sides. Our average age is about 19.

We need to get this Ilona Maher from the US Women 7's team. Idk how handy she is as a player, you'd think good enough to lock up a starting centre spot, or maybe in the second row if she was part of a medalist team.

She already became the most followed player in either code before the games officially opened, but now she has more followers on social media than Ponga, Walsh, SBW, Cleary, Louis Rees-Zammit, and Dan Carter combined.

I'd imagine an NRLW contract stacks up pretty well against a 7's contract, the sponsorships she'd get staying in the US would be the big one.. Surely the NRL can top her up out of their own pocket to get her doing promo in Vegas? lol
